The grunge/alt act Forevertree has recorded an acoustic cover of Prince's "When Doves Cry" song. I'm kind of a fan of cover tunes and these guys did this one right. They put their own stamp on the song without completely losing the original spirit of the song.

I wasn't even aware that Forevertree was even still active!
The song is a good tribute.

I too was a little surprised to hear this as they have seemed quiet for some time. It looks like they are still together, but we haven't seen an album from them since 2012's "Z".

Looks like they are still around but don't seem to release music very quickly. They have three albums now.
Turning - 1998 Alien - 2009 Z - 2012
So some substantial gaps between albums. Personally I think each release has seen the band improve. You can hear all three albums at their bandcamp page.

LOVE this band ! I too only have their first release (someday will add their other ones to my collection). I dig this cover - maybe even more than the original

Okay I checked Amazon and they only have the first album on cd. Were the other 2 ever released on cd?

I am almost certain their thrid album "Z" was digital only, but I had thought that the second album "Alien" was released on CD (but maybe not). I only have MP3 albums of the second two. Pretty sure I downloaded them from Amazon, but it could have just as easily been Bandcamp.

That's cool. Unfortunately anymore cd's are the cheaper option.

Especially on the older/mass produced stuff.
