In the beginning, there was this lost soldier who had dreams about his eternal destiny while trapped behind enemy lines.  One of those dreams saw him wondering about his eternal destiny while being under heavy fire he cried out “Holy is the Lord, take us away from this fear and danger”  he was visited by an angel in his dream who reminded him that the “Ancient of Days” would light the fire of awareness and keep him alive so he could choose this day who he would follow.

(that was a little difficult, not sure if it is coherent at all.....but there it is.

In everyone there is a hunger, an overflow of spiritual desire to keep them alive.  These search for things to avoid imminent destruction, and a desire to feel the power of God in them.  The things I say are true, all they need to do is turn from their old stomping ground and begin to overflow with the love of Christ, it is then, they will be fearless if they just trust the risen Christ.

I had that album at one point.  I wonder if I still do?  How bad is it when you can't remember what albums you own.  I'm sure I'm alone in that.


Ok, here we go.  I was digging through some boxes in the attic the other day looking for notes from a book study I had done with some friends in college on the four biggest obstacles men face:  the lust, the flesh, the eyes, and the pride of life.  There was all kinds of junk in there.  Notebooks from classes I forgot I'd taken, framed pictures I'd taken, frames without photographs...just stuff.  I thought about tossing it all out when I came across a sealed letter to my wife from one of her ex-boyfriends.  My mind raced--what was in that letter??  I really tried to put the thoughts out of my mind, to ignore the letter, but I just can't get over it.  I could open the letter and see what was in it, and then when I saw it was nothing, I could laugh at myself for being so silly.  I took the letter to my wife and implored her to open it.  She didn't want to open it and threw it in the trash.  I begged.  "Please!  Do it for love!!!"  No use.  It was like casting pearls before swine.  Bottom line:  I was going crazy about this stupid letter.  So, when she went to work the next day, I got the letter out of the trash and ripped it open.  Inside was a picture of a pig wearing a sombrero and Mardi Gras beads with a caption that read "Don't say goodbye."

I believe that is from the self titled album of the 77's.

On more than one occasion I have purchased an album all excited to add it to my collection, only to get home and realize I already had it. DOH! !!!  It usually happens with cheapo thrift store one dollar deals... only once did I purchase an album for 8 bucks online, a week later ended up buying another copy of the same album for 5 bucks -  I had forgotten I ordered the first one. So within a couple weeks I owned 2 brand new copies of Arnion "Fall Like Rain"... duh. haha

While reading my Bible one day, I read about the plague of flies that hit Egypt. I was so distraught that I shouted "I'm torn!" and my wife ran in to check on me. As the tears ran down my face, she reassured me there was more to life and that I shouldn't be such a lonely boy. All I could do was say "Bye bye colour. Our time has come to die, baby, die." and I began weeping again.

She grabbed my Bible and said "No more shaded pain! Read here about the Jordan River! Cease to be tethered to the tassel!" I read the verse she showed me and was happy again

I have my hope set high that I can keep eating healthy and what's good for me. I want to spend every heartbeat with my wife for a long time, so I can keep telling her you're not alone. If you ask me, after all, that's what love is for.

Sometimes when its dark, I turn on the lights.  Faithfully, I run into the open arms of my wife hoping we never go our separate ways.  After all these years, I feel our relationship is a stone in love.  Only the young say they know love, but don't stop believin' in your spouse.
