Plain Clothes

Does anyone remember this old band from the 90s?  They had two albums "All Dressed Up" and "Long Way To Go".  These were cassette only releases that have never been reissued.

I don't have any info on the band as far as members.  I have CD-Rs that I made from cassettes that belonged to Pastor Bob Beeman back when I did a show on Intense Radio for a few weeks.  I had the cassettes way back when they were released but got rid of them when I ditched all my music in a fit of insanity and tried to go southern gospel.  Yes, I even recorded a southern gospel album.

Anyway, does anyone know anything about this band?  I have remastered their "Long Way To Go" album and it sounds amazing now.  I ran into a glitch redoing "All Dressed Up" as the MP3s had a lot of skips.  For some unknown reason, my desktop wouldn't rip the song from CD-R properly.  I used my laptop today and voila!  This album is rescued from loss.  When it is remastered, I will share it with you guys as you will want to hear this.  There will be no other way to find it as it is not on Amazon, iTunes, or Spotify and other streaming media.

If you know anything about them, please let me know.  I'd love to contact them about releasing these two albums in a proper CD version and digitally.

I'm very interested in the remastered stuff from Plain Clothes.
Very good you were able to rip the Plain Cloths on your laptop.

Agreed, now that is HARD CORE! I've heard of people dumping Aerosmith and AC/DC for Christian artists but dumping Christian Rock for Southern Gospel?!? Man you gotta be TOUGH to do that!

Oh, and i have never heard of them until this thread. New to me! And I will be patiently waiting for your "Southern Gospel" remaster as well (and it better have bonus tracks)!

I don't care if the southern gospel album ever sees the light of day again.

I am checking a couple of different versions of Plain Clothes' first cassette release called "All Dressed Up".  It is hard to do much with this because it sounds recorded on an old cassette multi-tracking machine.  I would guess no more than 8 tracks.  The sound was pretty raw on this.  However, I've boosted it different ways to see what I can get out of it.  I am hoping that I have finished this.

If you like 80's metal, then this will be right up your alley.  If you like 80's metal with bold lyrics about Jesus, then this will really be your cup of tea.  Since these cassettes are super rare, I would definitely get these from me.

I've the idea Plain Cloths is my cup of tea.

I think I would like to hear this as well.

Didja get that Heaven's Metal issue I sent ya with the write up on them ?

I did, but it won't help me much.  I'd like to find those guys and see about getting them to reissue those albums.  Unfortunately, the review of their album only listed their first names and where they were from.  I am sure that there are more people who had the same names that played the same instrument in that city.  I don't know if I could find them or not, or if I even have that kind of time.

I know it's a long shot, but do you think that Oklahoma PO Box is still valid ?  If worse came to worse, you could send that address a quick inquiry note.

I may try, but seeing it has been over 20 years I seriously have my doubts.

Man any chance you can send me a rip of the "Long Way to Go" album.  Been looking for it on Ebay for over 10 years.  Incredibly I spotted the "All Dressed Up" Cassette many years ago and grabbed it quickly.  I used to play the "Long Way to Go" album during our bible studies back when it was released.  I even called the phone number at that time because they listed it in the album.  I got a hold of one of the band members and told him how awesome their stuff is.
