I'm on another forum that has a private room by invite only and it's pretty handy when folks want to share things that are more sensitive and not appropriate for the interwebs at large to know of.  You might consider opening a whole section for that and having your remastering be a sub-section therein instead of it being solely to discuss your remastering.

I've finished the Novella ones.  I am not sure how I like them though.  At lower volumes, it sounds amazing and you hear things in the recording you may never have noticed before.  At high volumes, though, the bass overrides the lead guitar in places.  It will rattle your speakers if you turn it up a lot.  If you keep the volume just above the range where your wife can talk to you, it sounds perfect.  LOL

I finally decided after several listens that I did not like the Novella remasters.  The bass and bass drum just overpowered the lead guitar.  So, I went back in and made more subtle changes.  Now, everything is about the same and the two albums as a whole sound more like they were recorded within the last couple of years instead os '90 & '91.  The volume increased, but not significantly.  The stereo spread is wider and brighter, but I would guess that only a hardcore fan or serious audiophile would note the difference.

I have Dynamo's "Eyes To The Sky" album done as well for the most part.  I need to run this through and adjust some of the song transitions, but my levels are great.

If you want a real challenge, tackle Stryken's First Strike and get that to sound like modern production.

I'd have to have that album.  Besides, Cliffy already did that one.  I shouldn't need to do much to that.

I believe that it was.  If not, he did a version.  I don't know if I kept it or not.  I never cared for Stryken.

I have redone all my Idle Cure stuff and the first Imagine This CD.

Next up will be a couple of Mad At The World albums and the first Siloam disc.

I have a little cleaning up of transitions on the MATW stuff but they sound great overall.

Now, I am doing David Zaffiro's first two albums.

Are you still hearing progress in all the CDs you have remasterd?
Does it go much better?

Oh, I am hearing a lot of difference to me!

I did both the Toni Rossi and TRB albums this week.  I am thinking of doing all the Daniel Band stuff.  I don't know.  I will do Bjorn Stiggson (or however you spell it ) for sure since I have the Leviticus remasters.

I did another song for Xid today and am trying to do something with a track that Gary sent me.  This could be a little harder.  What I'd like to do is put it on my Korg, add some bass, drums, and electric guitars.  I don't know if I will do that or not.

I would think it would next to impossible given that the timing on that song is all over the place...not to mention how horrible the original recording quality is (not to mention the lack of talent of the doofus who recorded it).

I can't do much with it.  Even trying to make it louder isn't working thus far.  There is just not much signal.

No worries, I wasn't expecting a miracle...they are old and very poorly recorded.  Heck they don't even sound that great on cassette.  I was just hoping to get the recordings transfered from tape to CD and maybe cleaned up a little so I could surprise my old friend with them.
