| This one looks pretty good... I just wonder why they don't keep working off the previous ones. I mean, how many origin movies did they make of Spiderman ?? Exactly - too many ! Still gonna check this out, but I'm sick of origin movies and would like them to make ONE origin, then build off that one from then on - despite different actors and stuff. It'd be like a TV series but each episode is an entire movie. Idk... thoughts ?

| I would like to agree. Too many people were quick to point out the faults with the first two Fox movies. However, I thought they did a great job with them. I would have preferred another sequel with that cast, or as you say, a new cast. However, this version comes from the same comic book timeline as The Avengers movies, X-Men, the Spiderman reboot/reboot that Marvel Studios is going to do after the recent partnership of them and Sony, etc.
Personally, I want to see this, but I am still scratching my head at the change of ethnicity in Johnny Blaze. Is this necessary? If they want a black super hero, create one! Don't just revamp the old ones. To me, that is just feeding sales off of race. That seems to be just as racist as not having black superheroes. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/

The comic book Nick Fury wasn't a black man either, so it's not the first time they've done this. However, Johnny and Susan Storm are siblings, so in this case they change more than just the characters race, they also change the family relationship; either one or the other is now adopted or they aren't siblings at all.

True! With Fury, though, he was less of a main character. You can do that with a supporting character easier than you can a main one that is very iconic to a lot of fans. Making the editor at The Daily Bugle to be a black man in the Man Of Steel reboot worked well, too. But, once you've made the character so iconic that nearly everyone knows who they are even if they aren't a fan, you really shouldn't mess with that. Do you think that Disney would now recast Mickey as a Moose? I think not.

| I just watched the new FF trailer, and it seems that Sue is the odd duck. Dr. Storm is a black man, and he introduces Reed Richards to his daughter Sue, a white woman. | |

| There goes the neighborhood, kiddies! Really? Father/daughter? They were brother and sister! If they can't get that kind of detail right, then the rest will probably suck, too. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/ | |

They might still be bro and sis, I don't know. In this trailer Dr. Smith is an older man and all the FF folks are barely out of college. In fact, I'm not sure they even give the name for the human torch in the trailer; he could very well be Johnny Storm, son of Dr. Storm and brother of Sue ... but Sue is white, while the other two are black, so I'm sure there's some kind of adoption twist added to the family tree.
