Since Halloween has scared itself away for another year and the turkey has been digested and sent swimming in the porcelain pool, I would like to be the first to welcome our next holiday.

To each of my friends (and those who have a common hatred for/by me) I want to say.....

MERRY GIFTMAS

Wouldn't surprise me if the Federal Government actually proclaims that the "new" name of Christmas in the next few years.

For me it shows me that Christmas is for a lot of people not the day we celebrate the birth of God.
I refuse to give Christmas a commercial celebrations.
It seems to me the people who don't know what Christmas really is are winning.
It's God who has given us the most precious Christmas gift ever.
Jesus Christ.

It seems to me that you guys in America eat Turkey on thanksgiving day. If that is the case, what is the normal food for Christmas day? In the UK we don't have Thanksgiving Day (we'd rather moan about stuff), but we do have harvest festivals which is thanking God for the harvest.

And Christmas Day is offical Turkey day!

Christmas day meal is........

Roast Turkey
Roast Potatos
Roast parsnips
brussell Sprouts
Carrots
Peas
(other veg)
some kind of sauce
gravy
burps (obviously!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Many people eat much the same food for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Many people will make a Turkey, or a Ham (or both). For the last several years we have made a Prime Rib Roast.

You can find these dishes at many Thanksgiving or Christmas dinners...

Turkey, Ham, Goose (or Duck)
Baked Sweet Potatoes (usually topped with marshmallows)
Mashed Potatoes with Gravy
Bread Stuffing
Jellied Cranberry Sauce
Green Bean Casserole
All kinds of vegetables
Green Salads, Fruit Salads, Bean Salads
Rolls, and Breads of all varieties (my wife makes fantastic cranberry bread).
Pumkin Pie, Apple Pie, Mincemeat Pie, Pecan Pie
Fruitcake
Fudge
etc.

Most of us in the U.S. really like to eat.
