Media Rooms

Do you have a "Media Room" ? A "Man Cave" ? A "Woman Cave" ? At least an area in your house for your collection ?

Here's mine, I'm quite proud of it. I've commandeered 1/4 of the laundry room with plans to conquer about half the room

My room isn't anything to look at.  Just a few things on the walls and a general mess.

I have plans to rearrange the CD shelves up higher and put the album covers lower to the ground. As my back worsens and I head towards my 4th surgery, there's no way I can get down that low to rummage thru my CDs.

We have a bookshelf in our bedroom on my side of the bed that has my (meager) CD collection. Also on my side of the bed,  my two acoustic guitars are hanging on the wall (high enough where my 5 year old can't reache them).

My latest pride and joy is my framed photo promo for Red Sea's album release - SIGNED by Robin Kyle Basauri and Chris Howell. So cool !

I don't have an extra room to do a media room while living in an apartment. I don't really listen to music that much anymore,probably for two reasons.1~ My hearing isn't what it used to be so(2)~ I can't turn it up as it would disturb the neighbors.I usually just grab a CD from time to time to listen to in the carif I am driving around doing errands. I do have two media towers for my DVD's/BD's. I had one that got filled to the rim so I got another to have more space. It took me quite a few years to fill the 1st tower up so hopefully it will take a while for this one as well. I only get what I really want and like. I don't collect every movie that comes out.

Wow, very cool, I would like to see a picture of that!

I don't have a media room (I have 3 children living with me instead).  I have a large shelf in the closet full of my 500+ cds (and it is very unorganized right now).

I did just assemble and home office space and so I don't feel left out I am going to post a picture of that instead!.

It's all on that laptop....and in the messy closet behind it.  

I have a small room for myself.
My CD collection is stored in the livingroom.
I might move all those CDs to my room.

My wife doesn't want me to have a man cave. She's afraid I won't come out.  

My answer to that is a "drum" room. With a little insulating I'll have the beginning of a home studio. Ultimate man cave, for a musician.

Sometimes it's great to have a room for yourself.
I'll hide there when there's a soccer match on TV.
Or when I need time for me alone, when the day was overwhelming me.

A lot of people cuddle up to a cold beer after an overwhelming day. :-)

How can.... a spouse...be a ...playroom?   That....no... my mind is in the wrong place. A dark place.

That would be media room.....I have a spouse, but she is never warm, always says she's freezing. 

I have lots of CDs in a corner, and a couple of vinyl and posters on my dresser. I don't feel like setting stuff up until I'm permanently established somewhere.

If I ever get my studio and media rack organized, I will post pictures.  Every man needs a man cave.  I have mine, and it is a wonderful, magical place where there are unicorns who eat cotton candy and poop chocolate rainbows that are delicious!

OK, it's a cool place to hang out.

The basement is the closest thing to a man cave I have. There's a leftie acoustic drum kit, a rightie electronic drum kit (my brother's, because he moves 2-3 times a year), my synth and synth pedals, a bass amp, and a ton of my brother's guitar/studio gear. The rest of the basement is a TV corner and an (underused, of course) exercise machine corner. Not to mention that it's cool downstairs, which is nice in the summer, except that my cats love going down there on hot days and I occasionally don't notice they're there when I start drumming.
