Great pick.
I unknowingly copied this riff once. It would fit on an AC/DC or Led Zeppelin song, I think.

I don't know if metaldude was going to post this here, but he posted it over on CMR and I like it. Sounds a lot like an early '90s Deliverance song for a bit.

I dig both of those Echo Hollow cds. It is a project with the original vocalist, and original guitarist from Tourniquet (Guy & Gary), and some other dudes.

I was reading an interview with Guy the other day and it got me thinking of EH. It's a shame the Ritter, Lenaire, Kirkpatrick team couldn't stay together. They were such a good combination.

I never realized that Stryper recorded in standard (or drop) tuning.

How can standard tuning be considered "drop"? A dropped tuning is usually one that is off standard.

A lot of bands tune a half step down from the standard A-440 to put ease on the vocalist.

I should've been clearer on that, but almost all of Stryper's songs have been performed half a step down, tuned to Eb standard. This album was apparently recorded in standard tuning, but this particular song is in Drop D, which is standard but with one string dropped a whole tone.

It's Good Friday, so have a good Good Friday. This is an excellent piece of music, and the lyrics are based on Psalm 22, one of my favourite psalms.

I've just realized that while there are a lot of songs that describe the crucifixion, and a lot that describe the resurrection (or if you're Barnabas, both within the same song), but I can't think of any that describe what the disciples must've felt on Saturday.

I'm gonna cheat and post and second video....just because this such a fantastic song! Besides it might make Metaldude nostalgic. Besides any song with enough guts to use the word "wronger" in it has to be ok in my book (weep grammer Nazis)!
