Hi buoys and gulls!  It's been far too long since we have done one of these and there is nobody to blame but me (see I actually changed the name of the thread).  So without any further delays here is your moronic inquiry for this "month", and feel free to elaborate on your answer.

Do you like to travel?

I love to travel and love to finally get back home!  With geocaching, I have been in 11 states.  I have traveled to far more than that.  I have never been outside of the USA, though.

Amen!  I am with you there.  Traveling is great, though as an introvert, it can be exhausting when I don't have access to solitude.

I've traveled to Uganda, Norway, Mexico many times/locations, and Canada.  Within the US, I've traveled to Montana, Hawaii, Colorado, The East Coast, and all the states bordering CA (oh and Washington too!), plus a couple others.  I love California and for me that's home, but otherwise my favorite is either Montana or Washington.

Places outside of the US I want to go are Eastern Europe and Iceland.  Within the US, I really want to go to Alaska.

Yes, I enjoy traveling. A lot. As a guy who really likes transportation, a lot of things about traveling appeal to me. If I'm in a car, it'll be the way the roads are built; if I'm in a train or a plane, it'll be the way that the stations/airports are built.

As to where I've been… 8 out of 10 provinces and 0 out of 3 territories in Canada; across the northern U.S. and down the eastern U.S. coast, as well as an afternoon in Mexico (while in Texas); and France, including small excursions to Italy and Switzerland.

Yes, I grew up in Ontario, Canada and have been to Quebec, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland. Traveled the states quite a bit too. I've been to New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Cheesy Wisconsin, North & South Carolina, Georgia, Florida. Ya know there's a lot more provinces in The States than there is in Canada.

I've also been to France.

Would love to travel to Florida Keys, Hawaii, Cancun, Austrailia and New Zealand.

I'm somewhat claustraphobic, so, not too much. Put me on a plane and it can get ugly.

Hate it.
If it weren't for my wife wanting to go places and do things, I'd never leave home.
The furthest* I would travel would be down the hill to the Palm Springs area which is about 30 miles away. That's only because they have lots of good food, shopping, record and thrift stores.

However, Lisa and I do get away from town and make the 150 mile trip to San Diego at least 3 times a year. Though I hate the drive, it's always nice to spend some time away from "it all" and to hang out with my best friend at the docks with the sound of seagulls and waves hitting the piers.

Aside from that, we make a trip to visit her family once every 3-4 years. That flight is literally all the way across the country from California to New Hampshire. Though I love visiting with her family, I hate travelling that far... and by the 3rd day, I'm ready to get back home to my familiar settings, my puppies, and our perfect weather.

So, "no" is the answer to "do I like to travel"  Evil or Very Mad

* farthest ? This grammar Nazi is not sure which is correct... oh no !  Laughing

I'm sure you have seen quite a bit of Europe too.

I like to travel, but like Alldat I like coming home. I don't really get claustrophobic, but I don't really enjoy flying (I would much rather drive). I have seen all of the Western states (including Alaska), much of the South and some of the Midwest. I have visited Mexico Victoria B.C., Panama, Oman (in the middle East) and The Netherlands, and I lived in Germany almost three years.

^ dude ! You've been around ! Good for you !

I wouldn't mind seeing a lot more before I kick off, but another thing that prevents me from travelling much is my screwed up spine. Even a 1/2 hour drive kills me... These days, Lisa does most of the long driving as my hands go to sleep and numb-out on me shortly into the drive (due to the herniated disc in my neck pressing the nerves)... and forget plane trips, if I can't move around, I get so stiff and painful that it can sometimes bring me to tears.

Stinks. Perhaps that is why I've become such a home-body in recent years. Idk

Funny thing is that even though I like to travel outside the state, I don't really want to go much of anywhere here in my own neck of the woods....so I tend to stay home most weekends. If I had as much back trouble as G/F does I would probably wouldn't want to go much of anywhere.

Yes ,I love to travel. While I do love to get around, I don't do it that often. So when I do get out,I really get out. I have driven to Destin,Pensacola,Gulf Shores and New Orleans multiple times. Been to Atlanta,D.C., Dallas,New York city as well. Plus got to see Mount Rushmore & Devil's Tower, Wyoming. Visited family in Iowa,Colorado, Minnesota, Georgia, and need to get out to Seattle to see them someday. No, I have never been outside of the U.S. of A. Not that I don't want to but finances say otherwise. I would love to get over to Europe some day and visit Germany, the UK, Rome and maybe even France. I'm not ruling out Canada either.

If/when you make it over here you better carve out at least an hours worth of time so we can meet!

I had a feeling you might say something like that. So it has already been on my mind.

I just remembered,I have also driven out to visit friends that I used to hang out with from church out in Tennessee and Virginia.
