| If it wasn't for Chuck Smith and his visions for hard rock and metal music in the late 70s and 80s, we may have never heard many of the bands we like so much.
Pastor Chuck provided a stage for hundreds of rock bands when most churches were turning up their noses to that "rock and roll" stuff. Many of his planted Calvary Chapels followed in his footsteps by supporting rock and metal artists in their infancy.
He was not only a Spirit filled teacher of God's word, but he cleared a path for musicians that most churches wouldn't have anything to do with. We owe him a debt of gratitude for that. | |
