I am going on record saying I do not support any gun control of any Kind. I grew up with guns on my grandfathers farm and love them. Here is the response from a Texas government official...
"Texas state Rep. Steve Toth has just announced his intention to
introduce a "Firearms Protection Act" into law which would make it a
felony crime for anyone, including federal agents, to enforce Obama's anticipated
gun control executive orders, including orders that attempt to limit the
size of gun magazines.
"The Firearms Protection Act bill would
make any federal law banning semi-automatic firearms or limiting the
size of gun magazines unenforceable within the state's boundaries.
Anyone trying to enforce a federal gun ban could face felony charges
under the proposal," reads Steve Toth's website announcement.
"We can no longer depend on the Federal Government and this Administration
to uphold a Constitution that they no longer believe in. The liberties
of the People of Texas and the sovereignty of our State are too
important to just let the Federal Government take them away. The
overreach of the federal administrations executive orders that are do
not align with the Constitution, are not very popular here in Texas."

Gov. Rick Perry (R-Texas) has revealed his own plan for combating
America's violence problem -- and it differs from President Barack
Obama's on a key point. Specifically, the former presidential candidate
said that instead of enacting tougher gun control legislation, Americans should simply pray for protections.

And this really caught my attention...
"
Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott is inviting New Yorkers who aren’t
pleased by Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s new gun regulations to move to his home
state to keep their Second Amendment rights.
A series of Web ads
were launched Wednesday, popping up across screens on various media
websites accessed in Manhattan and Albany, including that of The New
York Times, reported
the Austin American-Statesman. The ads are paid for with Abbott’s
campaign operation Texans for Greg Abbott and promise the uninfringed
right to bear arms as well as lower taxes and more money for ammo.
One particular Facebook ad reads:
“Here in Texas, you will have the liberty and the opportunity to
achieve your dreams. On top of that, we have no income tax, yet still
manage to have a multi-billion dollar budget surplus.
“We have right to work laws and a reasonable regulatory environment.
Texas has created more than 275,000 jobs in the last year alone! And
we’ll fight like hell to protect your rights.
“You’ll also get to keep more of what you earn and use some of that extra money to buy more ammo.
“I hope to see you soon in Texas. In the meantime, sign up to show your support for our second amendment rights.”
The ads started appearing on New Yorker’s screens the day after Cuomo
signed into law a package that fortifies the state’s current assault
weapons ban, prohibits magazines holding more than seven rounds,
strengthens the rules dealing with the mentally ill, dictates harsher
punishment for the smuggling of firearms and pushes for mandatory
background checks.
Eric Bearse, the Texans for Greg Abbott spokesperson, told POLITICO
on Wednesday that the ad buy is “sizable,” though he wouldn’t be more
specific. He said that the ads will be up for a few days.
“We believe that the Constitution and liberty shouldn’t be sacrificed
on the altar of political expediency and that the tragedy in
Connecticut has been shamefully exploited by politicians pursuing an
agenda that doesn’t fit with the Constitution,” Bearse said.
Abbott’s Facebook page
has been updated about three times about the ads and invitation. The
three posts have collectively gotten more than 7,000 “likes” and more
than 1,000 shares.
