| I got this announcement in my email today: - Quote :
- RadRockers.com Newsletter
Hard To Find, Import & Bargain Christian Music http://www.radrockers.com >>RAD ROCKERS E-MAIL BLAST: 8/15/2012
The Rad Rockers website will be accepting orders as usual by paypal and charge/debit cards through Friday, August 31 at 5:00 PM CST.
After that the website will function as a kind of 'beacon' referring customers looking for specific items to suppliers on Amazon and Ebay that I recommend as super trustworthy and efficient.
After operating a Christian music mail order business continuously for more than twenty five years, the time has come to pass the torch to others.
Virtually all of the inventory you have been used to being able to buy from the Rad Rockers website in the past will be available in the future from an Ebay seller going by the name of Dead Parrot Records, and an Amazon seller going by the name of Marks' Ear Candy.
Additional announcement will be made during the transition period and beyond to help you understand what is going on and become more familiar with these new suppliers.
I'm not sentimental, so there will be no sad songs as this transition takes place. But I can assure you that if you choose to do business with these new suppliers in the future, you will be just as pleased with their mix of savings, selection, and service as you have been with Rad Rockers in the past.
So here's one last chance for all of you to visit the Rad Rockers website and place a final order by Friday, August 31, before the opportunity closes for good.
Happy hunting. May you find a rare one at a great price!
I used to order from them all them time when they had their $25 minimum purchase. It was fairly easy to find 2 CDs I wanted at the same time. Then, as my collection of out of print stuff became more complete, I stopped buying from them as much because of that minimum order requirement. Then, when all the stuff about the bootleg albums hit the fan, I stopped shopping there altogether. I haven't ordered from them in years now. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/

| Not very surprised Rad Rockers will close the doors. I've ordered CDs there. I never liked the bootlegs stuff there. The last CDs I've ordered there were Bill Menchen CDs.
I want to ask what is "beacon reffering"?

| So do they still have the 25 dollar minimum? I never ordered from there because of it but I see some good stuff on there I'd order now but not $25 worth of stuff. | |

| I also used to order from them quite a bit. I never had any heartburn over the $25 minimum because there was always more stuff I wanted than I could afford. But I quit buying a few years ago with the CDR/Bootleg incident occurred because I was afraid of paying $12 or $15 for an illegitimate CDR. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... | I used to buy from them also. Then I did receive a CDR of Eternal Ryte complete with fake "pure Metal" insert cards. The CD had no bar code on the packaging. They included a bonus...2 cassette copys of brides drop and 2 cassette copys of Tourniquet live. I gave the bride away and still have 1 of the tourniquet cassettes if anyone wants it. |

I want to ask what is "beacon reffering"? He just means that the Radrockers site will point you to some other online sellers.

| Are they labelled as CDR's? Amazon does the same thing with some OOP stuff - "This item is produced on demand on a CDR" - or some other such drivel. | |

I don't know for certain, but every cassette I ever received (about a dozen) where all legit (and sealed). Most of them were OOP. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

That might be true, but they weren't for at least several months when the scandal first broke a few years ago. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| Does anyone know if RadRockers does trades? They have 2 cassettes that I want to order but I won't have the money until after they close. It's only 8 bucks with shipping but my wife and I are on such a tight budget that I can't swing it.
If he'd take a trade though...

| With them closing, I doubt a trade would be something they'd be interested in. I would guess that they just need to sell product right now. Besides, they never did trades before. They would just buy large personal collections. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/ | |
