I've been discovering more and more early Jesus music, like this band. I searched for "Christian psych rock" on YouTube and Phoenix Sonshine was among the first.

Guilty/Forgiven has quite a bit of this early Jesus music.

Gotta confess to not being much of a fan of any of it myself.

I have an appreciation for most Jesus Music, and a love for assorted albums through that decade of the 70s.
My fav will always be Albrecht and Roley. If you're familiar with James Taylor, Jim Croce, America and the like... these guys could've been on the radio right beside them. VERY talented.
And Staybrite's right, I got a lot of JPM. I see it as part of our history. If you like Christian rock and metal of the 80s and 90s, you have to appreciate it's roots which go clear back to the late 60s when Jesus Music started flapping it's wings.

And yep, I do have that Phoenix Sonshine album.

I used to enjoy Larry Norman a great deal. Then I read some stuff about his personal life and really lost a lot of respect for him. I still appreciate what he did for the genre and all...

Besides Resurrection Band is more my style anyway.

A lot of the old "Jesus music" was just too hippy and folky. I just don't like the style of this at all.

In the 60's when "Christian rock" first came about, they called it Jesus music.
