"I Want A Big Hug" parody of Huey Lewis' "I Want A New Drug"

I can't remember the lyrics I used to use, but I could sing nearly half of that old "No Doubt" song "I'm just a Girl" using an altered title "I'm Just a Squirrel".

Good on ya, that's pretty darn good now tackle Patmos (Devil's) Island from the same album.

OK, here's what I got so far... but I gotta get back to work before I get caught
Patmos Island (parody of Devil's Island by Megadeth)
The light that fills my darkened cell, It's the Messiah that I see,
His glory's bright that's why I fell, Why has He chosen me?
He said to write down what I see, The time's end is near,
Oh Lord, I hear Your voice, a Trumpet oh so clear.
I recall His Word, His every breath, and wrote down what He'd say.
In the spirit, walking, as visions paved the way.
The guards and the rulers stuck me here, no longer free
But, here on Patmos Island, His Visions still reach me.
[Chorus:] Patmos Island, Patmos Island.

I e-mailed them back and forth for a while with my own suggestions. This was back around prolly 2001-2. They thought my ideas were pretty good, but they already have hundreds of songs already written... each album is just a process of digging through their massive library of songs and deciding which ones to put on the next album.
Me (in the yellow) on the stage with the boyz -
Wow. That is an old photo. Karl (the guitarist on the left) left the band years ago. That's also one of the few photos I've ever seen where J isn't sporting bleach-blond hair!
I've been a huge fan of them for years and have probably seen them more times than any other band. I even made a fan site devoted to them, though I haven't updated it in a couple of years.
As far as their metal covers go, I think their best is the parody of "Slither" by Velvet Revolver:

Oh heck yeah !!!! Love that song !
And yep, I've seen them 5 times - but the last concert was in 2006. They NEVER come to Southern California. They usually only make a couple Cali appearances per tour and it's always mid-state or up north.

The reason they're not in California much is that it's harder for them to make it out there. They all live near Pittsburgh and only tour on the weekends, so they pretty much have to fly to make west-coast appearances.

Just remembered another great metal parody from the band. This one is much older than "Swimmer", but remains a fan favorite and is one they do at most of their concerts still...
Probably the best video of that song on YouTube (at least the best live-performance video).
