Subject: What if ApologetiX recorded a thrash album? Wed Jul 25, 2012 10:21 am
I got into ApologetiX a little while back (thanks Jim for recommending them). I really liked "Enter Samson" and was thinking of other thrash titles:
Patmos Island Healing Is My Business And Business Is Good Enter Samson (reprise) Pastor of Muppets
I'm not too well versed in secular thrash… so, suggest your own!

I doubt they would ever do this, really.

I'm with Gary, "Pastor of Muppets" would probably even make Apo's lead singer laugh.

I e-mailed them back and forth for a while with my own suggestions. This was back around prolly 2001-2. They thought my ideas were pretty good, but they already have hundreds of songs already written... each album is just a process of digging through their massive library of songs and deciding which ones to put on the next album.

I really like their classic rock tunes and 80's New Wave. As much as I like metal I like this stuff quiet a bit. They do a great job.

If you are interested in getting some Apologetix, do it now. All of their CDs from their webstore are 50% off right now.

I used to have radical history tour, ticked, Jesus Christ Morningstar, and Biblical Graffiti ... but either lost/disposed of them through my unbelief...

radical history tour is awful - the others you list are their "coming of age" albums - If you heard some of their songs from the last 5 albums or so, you'd be blown away by their mimicking abilities.
What I like most about them is not so much the ability to sound just like the originals, but the incredibly talented lyrics that J writes. Many songs almost seem as if the originals should have had J's lyrics.

I have heard their newer stuff... and it's not bad.. some of the lyrics are better than others... I was just lamenting that I had their albums (back in 99) but I didn't anymore lol
they aren't bad by any means .. and they are certainly following God's plan for them...

Which ones are the most hard rocking/metalling, as opposed to ballading?

I think it might only be availible digitally but they made a few compilations of their music that are based on song style.
There is a "Classic:Heavy" compilation that seems to have most of their "metal" and hard rock type songs.

A long time ago I had made my own compilation mixes of genres they spoof. Needless to say, the one I listened to the most was the one with the harder rockers.

Thrash ? That's kind of a hard genre to remember secular songs for me... we're talking pre-1989. Off the top of my balding head....
I am the Lord (Parody of I am the Law by Anthrax) Call on Jesus or die (Speak English or die by SOD) Seek and you'll find (Seek and destroy by Metallica) Saving is my business, and salvation is free (Killing is my business and business is good by Megadeth) Cults sell, but they're lyin' (Peace sells, but who's buyin' by Megadeth)

"What d'ya mean our belief's are odd, read Scripture every day; "
What d'ya mean I have to work for it, thought Jesus paid the price;
What d'ya mean by 'take these pills', you think I wanna croak ? huh ?
They push a new way, but they're the next to lie, say theirs is right this time;
What d'ya mean I hafta wear special underwear ? I'd rather wear my own underwear;
What d'ya mean I'm just blind ? Cuz I'm not your kind;
What d'ya mean I couldn't be saved only by His grace through my faith alone ? Do me something, go read Ephesians, right ?
