Has it REALLY been TWO YEARS since I've been here???

OK, I know it's been a while since I've darkened these doorsteps... but I just got a shock when I logged in and it said that my last visit was in May of 2009! Has it REALLY been THAT long??? WOW!!!

Well, I'me very sorry to have been away that long. I'll try not to let that happen again!

It's great to see you Thomas, how is marred life treating you? Do you still see much of our old friend Jon? (we haven't seen him around here in a long time either).

Well, married life is fine. Can you believe it's been SIX YEARS already since I got married??? Time really DOES fly!!!
We have a baby coming ANY DAY now! Due date is Sept. 7.

Yes, I still do see Jon. In fact, we are pretty close to finally finishing up that new Unforsaken CD that has been on the backburner for way too long...

What else I've been up to... well, the coming baby has been making life pretty crazy for us, but there is some significant news biside that:

Yes most certainly a typo, but with some peoples marriages I am certain they feel "marred".

Also cool to hear you and Jon are working on another Unforsaken album. I still think the last Unforsaken disc is one of the greatest sounding indie albums I have ever heard.

I know. We were talking about doing some music, but I never could figure out how to get my tracks off my Korg in a format you could use. I've not really progressed on my mixing, and I've just about decided I just need to give it up. I really like Martin (he is a great guy), but I gotta confess to not being much of an EF fan....don't get me wrong, I think Martin is an excellent musician, just not really my "style" of music.



And don't take Sabidoo's comments personally (I don't...and you should see how badly he talks about me)...he is our resident curmudgeon.

If that's the case, chaeck out the "Ignition" single... it's an instrumental... That will at least let you hear the sound and production of the album.

As for sabidoo... Well, it is people like him who made me (and others) decide not to frequent the CMR too much anymore. Get too much of that kind of attitude going here, and some people will end up feeling unwelcome here and not bother coming back anymore...

OK, maybe a certain Canadian has bugged him... so that means that ALL Canadians get put down??? Come on... in that mindset, I might as well go along with a certain stereotype and say that everyone from Tennessee is an inbred hillbilly. Maybe I would want to lash out at sabidoo that way in response to his comments to me, but then I would also be grouping Alldat into the same stereotype. I don't appreciate that sort of crap, and it's very un-Christian. If there was SOME indication that he was joking, just having a little fun with me out of love, then that would be different. But there is no such indication.
And besides, how do you think a new Christian who is coming to the CHM for the first time would take that sort of thing?
OK, maybe I'm taking this too seriously... but think about it... I come back here after two years to get caught up with you guys again, just to be put down by someone I don't even know, JUST BECAUSE OF WHERE I'M FROM???

BTW, Staybrite, don't worry, I know you're not putting Martin down just because you don't like his particular style of music... we all have different tastes in music. The really cool thing is that you support him whether you like his music or not. You rock!

sabidoo is my brother for the record. He is as big of a cutup as you will ever see. So, if he puts you down, you have just been adopted into the family. Everything he posts, be sure and run it through a DEEP BS filter before you take it too personally.

Hey Thomas. I'm from Pembroke, in Ontario, which is about 1 1/2 hours away from Ottawa. I'm glad to meet a fellow Ontarian!

My brother lives in Hamilton, which isn't all that far from Hamilton (about 100 miles/160 km).

I'm glad to hear that Martin (aka Endy) is still doing music. I don't care for his style, but I believe in what he's wanting to do with it. I hope he really can minister to people in the extreme metal scene.

Pembroke is on the 17/417, just keep following the highway west from Ottawa until you get to Pembroke (on the road or on a map). A little less busy than the Gatineau/Ottawa area.

Yes, I play bass. I do foolish stuff on stage but I'm not that bad.

I'm the main Canuck that sabidoo refers to. There's also PouncerW, a Newfie (I think) but he joined recently.

Hey Thomas! I listened to the 3 Endless Funeral singles and I gotta say, it sounds really tight! I'm one of the few hardcore/extreme metal heads hear at the board. Although I admit that most of what I listen to isn't quite as extreme as Endless Funeral (vocal style at least). I tend to stick to the metalcore genre most of the time (Haste the Day, Phinehas, For Today, Oh Sleeper, Memphis May Fire, Inhale Exhale, etc.), although my taste in music extends to extreme metal, pop/rock, rap, death metal, and pretty much everything in between (excluding country music).

Yeah, that's why I joined up with him. I don't really care for that style of vocals myself, to be quite honest, but there are many people who do, and they need to hear about Jesus as much as the rest of us do. I really felt a burden on my heart to make sure that this music got the proper attention it needed in order to reach its potential so that it can reach more people.

It's been a blast working on this stuff!

Hey DBF: Are you REALLY a Daniel Band fan? I only ask this because I saw your age over on the CMR, and if you really ARE that young, then you were not even born yet on the night when I was over at Tony Rossi's house watching Daniel Band practicing for a REUNION concert!

Bass playing: Do you have recording software at home? I'd like to hear you, if possible.
