Rob Beckley, frontman for the band Pillar, posted this on facebook a few minutes ago:

Quote :

Over the last 13 years, it's safe to say that we have had the most incredible fans ever. I just wanted to thank all of you for your support and for all you have done. I am thankful for each of you. -Rob

Now the big question is, is this a goodbye letter or is Rob just speaking from the heart while they write a new album (they said in January that they were beginning to write again).

IDK, seems like 13 years is a pretty long time for a band to stick it out (at least nowadays). Guess we will just have to wait and see.

With a post like that, if there is no official announcement in the next few days, I wouldn't worry. But, I would be watching the news sources to see if something official is announced.

Well, looks like I have my answer! Rob updated their facebook earlier saying this:

Quote :
There was nothing in the post that we were done, just a simple thank you. For those of you that don't know, we have taken this last year to step back and be with families and do somethings in life that we have missed out on. Yes, there will be another record! We are just focusing on our families right now. -Rob

So there you have it folks. Pillar still thrives, and there WILL at some point be another album. Sorry to have gotten anyone who may have read this and panicked like I did all stirred up.

lol!

Sweet, glad they are sticking around. I know that gutarist Noel Hanson has a new side band called Seargent Avenue that also features ex-Day of Fire gutarist Greg Hionnis.

I was actually gonna post the same thing earlier, but I forgot! Haha! I just found that out a couple days ago. I messaged the band to see if there was anywhere I could listen to their music at (you can't really hear much in the live videos on youtube). The messaged back and said they are getting ready to release a full length album and will be posting a song or two really soon.

It's good to hear that Pillar isn't finished. I have enjoyed their last couple of albums more than their earlier ones.

I'll have to check out the Sargent AVenue.
