| X-Sinner could be in the top 3 for me. And Saint in the top 5 if they get the sound right (The Mark, Warrior Of The Son 2004 or In The Battle)

| No, with Saint I am talking NEW music--not another remaster. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/ | |

| Yeh, sorry I meant if the new album sounds like The Mark, Warrior Of The Son 2004 or In The Battle (and Hell Blade too). But if it's like Crime Scene Earth then I'm not so keen. Since Saint reformed they've hit the mark (no pun intended) all the time apart from CSE which has it's good moments, but is generally a weakish album.

| Nordic Mission has the CD back in stock, but it costs over $20 to have it shipped from Norway to the states. That, of course, is unreasonable. At this point I am either going to have to go the download route or wait for US distribution.
Everyone keeps raving about Sarepta- so I cannot help but think someone here in the states is going to pick this up.

| Listening now ... I'm definitely hearing the Darrell Mansfield thing. A very 70's blues/rock vibe ... not sure I'd call it "metal," though - it's heavy like Third Day is heavy (although in a different style). Great signature riff on "Son of Man"! Love the boldness of the lyrics as well. Strong vocal performance on "Stop." A better-than-decent cover of "God Gave Rock and Roll to You" tops off the project - a great one if you dig blues-based rock 'n' roll! Listening to these guys got me to thinking about an album I had (on cassette!) back in the mid-1980's - Darrell Mansfield's "Revelation" (AMAZING album art on that, BTW) ... had not heard it in nearly 20 years, and have never been able to find it on CD, but I did a quick search and, viola! There it was on iTunes! Sarepta and Mansfield's "Revelation" - a "double-header"! | |

Mansfield thing. A very 70's blues/rock vibe ... not sure I'd call it "metal," though - it's heavy like Third Day is heavy (although in a different style). If Sarepta isn't metal, then you have to disqualify Kiss, Deep Purple, Aerosmith, AC/DC, etc. that were the definition of metal in its formative years. It might not be as heavy as some of the Cookie Monster on Crack bands today, but it is what metal is at its raw basics. The music today should be considered a sub-genre of metal. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/

| I think Sarepta is basically hard rock/metal. Yes, it's not as loud and screaming as lots of albums, but I think it sounds similar to Alice Cooper in style/type i.e. clear vocals, understandable lyrics and smokin' music!

Semantics, I suppose ... I would not regard any of those bands as "metal" per se, but rather as "hard rock" (or "blues rock," or "classic rock") ... but whatever - different strokes and all that ...

| To a lot of people TODAY, they would call them that. But, to the creaters of metal & the magazines giving them publicity, they are the epitome of metal. Everything since is a sub-genre of metal.

| I'm slowly typing up the lyrics as I hear them! I've done 3 songs so far (and half way through the 4th). I've also facebooked them and asked if they could post the lyrics.

| Been listening to Sarepta on my iPhone every morning when I shower. I am really liking this album. Gonna rate it a 3 1/2 on my 4 star scale. Very talented. Hard rock with touches of what we used to call metal. (Today I guess "metal" is screamcore, angry, hard on the ears stuff). I really like the lyrics too. | |

| Ok, so my favourite song at the moment on that album is Thirst Of Life. Whilst I await a response from the band, could anyone help me out with the 2 parts of the songs that I can't understand what they're singing? Here's how it goes...
Thirst Of Life
Lord I’ve fallen again, from you and into sin. I lay it all down. I don’t know where to begin. And Lord, I am tired of it all To see myself fall in temptations every strife Want to follow your Word, and all I have heard and quench the thirst of life
Oh and they call me the sinner They tear my flesh from bone, I’m a sinner. They may consider me a winner, But Lord I know I’m a sinner.
So help me, dear Lord to change my evil ways. Save me, dear Lord my life’s in need of change. All this comfort and ease. I do as I please And dig my very grave My courage is none, And all I have done Is march on His parade. (Not sure if it's His or This, sort of hope it's HIS)
Chorus
The man on the cross is who I want to be To walk in his steps from self destruction flee To swallow my pride My ????????…………. A side And grab my shield and sword And rise up against, Demolish the fence. Come ????????……… my Holy Lord. _________________ My Christian Metal Website......... Silence Is Madness

Of course I will send you the lyrics, but we have some upcoming gigs these days, so it'll have to wait a bit. I don't have it on my mac anymore. But I'll write them for you inbetween gigs!
Let me know if you want some more info; which guitars & amps I am using, bass and drums etc. Or general history, there's almost nothing on the internet that you americans understand, because it is in Norwegian:-)
God bless!

| Here are six songs that Kris has sent... SON OF MAN
(Johannessen, Davidsen)
1. Let me tell you ’bout the son of man He’s king of kings and your biggest fan. A man of action and mighty deeds. Mighty enough to fulfill your needs
Bridge: He’s a miracleperformer, puts no one in the corner Teacher of wrong and right! Walked the road of calvary, gave his life in agony Rose and turned darkness to light
Ref: He died for us! Will you live for him?
2. Jesus wasn’t just a prophet or preacher, He was the godsent saviour, not a regular teacher. But this love must be accepted, Let it in your heart, please don’t reject it.
He’s a miracleperformer, puts no one in the corner Teacher of wrong and right! Walked the road of calvary, gave his life in agony Rose and turned darkness to light
Ref: He died for us! Will you live for him?
3. Let me tell you ‘bout the son of man, He’s alive today and reaches out his hand. The world’s a rotten stage and we are players, But if you turn to Him, He will hear your prayers.
Bridge He’s a miracleperformer, puts no one in the corner Teacher of wrong and right! Walked the road of calvary, gave his life in agony Rose and turned darkness to light
Ref: He died for us! Will you live for him?
GLORIA PATRI (Johannessen, Davidsen)
We’ve been drinking of the cracked wells the world provides. We’ve learned the hard way that it’s bittersweet. We’ve had our share of the devils joyrides. And all the tricks he pulled so discrete.
But where would we be. If Christ didn’t set us free
Gloria Patri.
We’ve been walking down the roads of lamentationstreet. And met an army of trials on our way. We’ve been mocked and laughed at for our belief. Said all things we’ve shouldn’t say.
But where would we be. If Christ didn’t set us free
THIRST OF LIFE (Johannessen, Davidsen)
1. Lord, I’ve fallen again, from you and into sin. I lay it all down, I don’t know where to begin
Bridge. And Lord I’m tired of it all, to see myself fall, in temptations heavy strife. Want to follow your word, and all I have heard, and quench the thirst of life.
Refrain:
Oh, and they call me the sinner, they tear my flesh from bone... I'm a sinner They may consider me a winner, but Lord I know that I'm a sinner
2. Help me, oh Lord to change my evil ways. Save me, dear Lord my life’s in need of change.
Bridge All is comfort and ease, I do as I please, and dig my very grave. My courage is none, and all I have done, is marching this parade.
("marching this parade" refers to living a pathetic christian life.)
Refrain:
3. The man on the cross, is who I want to be. To walk in His steps, from selfdestruction flee!
Bridge: To swallow my pride, my urges aside, and grab my shield and sword. And rise up against, demolish the fence, comply my only Lord.
STICK TO YOUR GUNS (davidsen)
Roll the dice, your joy of fashion hits the floor. Feed the swans, hope of freedom lingers on. Shake the ground, toss your crown into the ring.
ref: Stick to your guns, break the chains that ties you the shelf. Stay true to the word, count your blessings as you seed.
Bow your head, the demons scream in agony. Take him down, kill the anger of your soul. Shake the ground, toss your crown into the ring.
Ref: Stick to your guns, break the chains that ties you the shelf. Stay true to the word, count your blessings as you seed.
repeat 1 verse and refrain.
Smokin' vineyard pt 1 (davidsen)
It all happened that day, in the year of the fox, when trouble turned to silence. Lost in time and put aside, screaming into nowhere. No place to hide, no place to breathe, what have I done to myself? Could this be real? Am I really dying? Two that lived, one that fell
What went wrong? Could it be the words that Jesus spoke? Could it really be, oh no, this would mean the end for me. But when I sensed in the heat and rain, a vineyard burning bright for me. That was odd, who told me this?
STOP (in the name of the lord) (Davidsen)
How much further can you go, before your faith fades into ashes? How much more will it take? To tear your mind apart from your heart.
bridge: When will it stop? When will it end? When will you realize, that this has all gone too far?
Ref: So stop, in the name of the Lord x2 You better think before He's back, get your life back on track. So stop in the name of the Lord
Can't you see that things are wrong? Can't you see that you are going backwards? Jesus is calling out your name, He's calling you to come back home.
repeat bridge + ref. _________________ My Christian Metal Website......... Silence Is Madness
