| for those who've preordered this CD, you're in for a surprise. I'd put it as their best so far - although it's a close call. On their previous albums I've always had to forward a track to two, but I'm finding that this album is their most consitently good.
01-The Suffering Servant 02-In The Shadow Of The Cross 03-I'm Calling 04-Born To Die 05-Ride The Wind 06-New Life 07-Enter The Light 08-Fear & Lies 09-What Lies Beneath 10-The Battle Is Over 11-Born To Die - Epilogue
Musically it's their best they've done. Vocally it's great too, with more power than the previous albums. And it's also more clear in it's christ centred lyrics.
"We see the Truth revealed The majesty as He defies the tomb, we see the Truth is sealed with new life We taste love's sweetest wine. It's righteousness is poured upon the earth we live life's true design, of new life, from dead life."

| Mine was waiting in the mailbox when I got home. I have not had the chance to listen to it yet. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/ | |

| I finally got to listen to this all the way through and at a decent volume. Lyrically, this is great stuff. The vocals are clean and the harmonies tight. However, this sounds like a major step backwards for Stairway in the production department. The guitars sound like they were recorded straight off a cheap distortion pedal. The bass is muddy, and the drums have no presence. Even the mastering job seems weak.
This may grow on me, but the best from Stairway? Not even close. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/

| That's just my take on it right now. It may be different for you. | This time one song to listen isn't enough for me. I need some more songs to listen if I really like "Interregnum". | |

| This is growing on me. It's still not their best, though.

Listened to this a couple of times and that is my first impression- a good Stairway album but not quite up their with "The Other Side Of Midnight" or "On Hallowed Ground". This might change with time and repeated listen. But I agree that production could have been better.

| The trouble with the last few Stairway albums was, for me the lack of great hooks. No Rest No Mercy had quite a few, but the next three weren't so full of memorable stuff (even though there were at least 3 awesome tracks on each album) but Interregnum seems to be back to the old days where the hooks and lyrics are spot on. Production generally doesn't bother me so I didn't have a problem with their new album. At the moment it's a contender for my album of the year..... although Theocracy may have an album out and I'm pretty sure that will ecplise everything else (Stryper, Saint, Sacred Warrior, Whitecross, Barrencross, Bride et al.)
