| they hurt. i have more trouble with my feet. i always have. the bottoms of my feet are as flat as flitters [and believe me, flitters are FLAT] and i've now developed a heel spur in my right heel. if you've never had this wonderful sensation, imagine walking barefoot and stepping down with your full weight on a small stone with your heel. now imagine that that feeling doesnt soon fade away after picking your foot up and giving the heel a couple of soothing rubs. it just lingers and throbs.
walking tends to ease it off, since the ligaments surrounding the spur 'accomodate,' but with my flat feet, the constant snap and pull of the shortened ligaments causes the center of my feet to become inflammed.
i have to sit and get off of my feet to make the arches feel better, but sitting for short periods make the heel spur ache worse when i stand because they ligaments surrounding the spur relax. putting fresh pressure on the heel starts the ache all over again, and often worse than before.
i'm damned if i dont and damned if i do, it seems. i made an appt. with a podiatrist, but he cant see me until April 1.
i have to go to work now and i dont want to. my foot is already hurting and i'll be on my feet for the next 8 hours.
prayers would sure be appreciated.

| Ouch sounds very painful. I think Alldat has had surgery for bone spurs, and I believe Rockervu2 has suffered from the same as well. Most of us are getting old. I'll be praying for you Sue. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| I can relate to your pain, Sue. I have had both of my feet operated on for heel spurs. They are not fun--I can tell anyone that. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/ | |

Now, would anyone like to hear about my first visit to a podiatrist?

| You are in my prayers Sue. I hope God will take the pain away so you can go to work with not to much pain. Are medications to heal your heel spur. I hope yo soon can jump on your both feet Sue. What I had was a bursitus in my leg, that's painful too. - Quote :

You can tell us about your first visit sabidoo when it helps you. Now don't tell us your first visit was cancelled because the podiatrist couldn't handle with the delicious fragrance of your feet.

| thanks for the prayers. i've found that wearing heels helps. they push the foot up and forward. with that in mind, i'm wearing heels all day today, up until time to work, when i'm forced to wear steel toed shoes, which are flat and extremely uncomfortable.
maybe after my visit to the podiatrist i'll be on the road to recovery. i certainly hope so.

Glad to know there's something like wearing heels that helps you.

| Sue, the first thing your Dr. is going to do is suggest an anti-inflammatory pain medication. It helps, but not much. Then, you will be getting a cortizone shot in your heel. You will have to endure a few of those before a surgical remedy is suggested. You might have to get orthotic inserts for your workshoes. Most insurance companies won't pay for these unless you have had surgery first. But, after you have the surgery, you don't need the inserts!

| You could possibly get in to see an orthopedic surgeon before then. Either way, you can count on the cortizone injections.

- well, the doc said it wasnt a heel spur. he said i've got plantar fascitis and that it is treatable, though it takes time.
My bone specialist called both of my heel spurs "plantar fasciitis". I have flat feet, worked long hours standing on concrete, am overweight, etc. All of these are causes of plantar faciitis. But, I also had the heel spurs. Unfortunately, that was the major cause of my irritations. Surgery was absolutely necessary, and I am glad I had it both times! Did you get the shot today? If you did, the shot is a walk in the park compared to the pain you will have from it tomorrow. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/

| I hope your foot is better today. But, by my own past experiences, it's probably not.

| Sorry to hear about this. My wife went through this as well, and she also has very flat feet I know how painful it is. I think she was able to treat it with just a cream though, no shots. |

still a bit sore, but getting better. it's the actual injection site that's hurting, at this point.
