| Here's a short review from JesusFreakHideout.com: - Quote :
- After many years in the business of making some seriously straightforward hard rock music, Seventh Day Slumber has recently released a Spanish album and now a worship album, entitled Take Everything. I haven't listened to the former due to the obvious language barrier, but this worship album is solid. Bringing a different side to worship, SDS makes yet another good album while mixing in contemporary favorites such as "How Great Is Our God" and "I Can Only Imagine" with classic hymns like "Nothing But The Blood" and "Surrender." If you're a fan of the band or like to have a little harder edge to your worship, Take Everything will be right up your alley.

| Sounds not bad a new worship album of SDS. But when all the songs are old worship songs and SDS only re-recorded those songs then I don't see the need to order this album. What are your thoughts about this new worship album of SDS? "Surrender" is that the same song as the "Surrender" on the S/T Mission Of One? I love that version of "Surrender" very much. | |

| No, the "Surrender" I recorded was my own work except for the bridge in the middle of the song. I wrote the verses and chorus, and I used the chorus from an old hymn called "I Surrender All" for my song. The old hymn is now what is known as "public domain" which means that US Copyrights no longer apply and anyone can use this song. The song "Surrender" that SDS is doing is a worship chorus that several artists have done since the early 90's. It is probably best known by the version that Rebecca St. James did on one of her two worship projects that got a lot of play on Christian radio. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/ | |

| The old hymn you mean is that the song that Acquire The Fire released? "I Surrender All"?

| "I Surrender All" was also done on the last Rock Power Praise CD.

| It says in the description that there's supposed to be a harder edge to this disc, but to be honest I just don't hear it. Most of the songs on this disc are slow and not very upbeat. I think it sounds good, but its just not what I was expecting. | |

| It doesn't sound like what I was expecting from this band either. I might actually pass on this unless I find it for a real bargin. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| The bad part of hearing clips on JFH is that they always focus on a lighter portion of the song. I'll give you the short Alldat review next week when this comes out.

| That's a cool idea to read your Alldat review first before I order the CD. | |

| Well, I'm not much of one to give detailed reviews. But, I'll do what I can.
First of all, this has a very similar feeling to the Kutless worship disc. It is even similar in the fact that they do a MercyMe cover tune and add one song of their own to this collection.
Also, like Kutless, SDS takes these worship songs and makes them their own. Each song is given the SDS treatment and the work really well. There are some heavy moments and some lighter, more pop stuff. Musically, it's what you'd expect from SDS.
But, one thing that this album doesn't do on the first couple of listens is make you feel like these songs ARE Seventh Day Slumber's. Kutless' disc didn't feel that way either until I had spun it several times. So, I think that this will also be a "grower".
If you want to rock out, this probably isn't the best disc to pick up right now. But, if you want to worship, then this is still a solid project.
