Henry Blackaby's "Experiencing God" study has been tearing me up. NOT recommended unless you want conviction brought upon you with a 2x4.

Really liked 'Boneman's Daughters'...a little disturbing, but I expect nothing less from the most excellent Mr. Dekker!

I wasn't sure that I wanted to read it and waited until it came up for free on Paperbackswap.com. I'm going to read it, and so is my wife. Then, we'll probably swap it again.

This sounds like an interesting book.

Chris,

Would you please give us a brief synopsis regarding the authors view point. What is his stance regarding Christians who do not attend church, etc?

Thanks,

Andy

First of all, this is a work of fiction with a lot of food for thought. The story is about a man who meets someone who seems to be John the Beloved still alive after all these years. John is on a mission in this book to help straighten out Christians who will hear and get them to rethink how we "do church" and just "be the church". To do this means being a church without walls: a lot more social outreach, assistance for the poor, more home meetings, non-paid clergy, no set meeting days, etc. Interesting read, though.
