| Tomorrow we'll drive to Germany to be on Christmas Rock Night. I'm excited about this festival. We'll see and hear Kutless, Thousand Foot Kruch, HB, Fireflight, Breaking Silence, Future Of Foresty, Project 86 and Disciple. I really thought Eowyn should come, but no Eowyn in the line up. Well I'm going to rock tomorrow. | |

That's probably because Eowyn called it quits earlier in the year. So, how was the show? _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/

| I still rock after hearing so many cool music. It's cool to listen to so many bands. Now I have to confess something. Promise me not to laugh. The Disciple show absolutley blew me away. What a great band is Diciple on stage. I love it when band share their faith with the crowd. Kevin really did, his message was very clear and bold. Disciple unplugged is not really unplugged. They played their more "quiet songs". Complete with two guitarist, a bassist and the drummer. I was very impressed to hear "Things Left Unsaid" of their "Scars Remain" Special Edition. This song always brings me to tears. Because it reminds me to the time my dad sudden was very sick and passed away after 8 days. Cool it was to hear "Into Black." Disciple really rocks. Now it's time to check out the songs of "Southern Hospitality". Disciple really is An other band I was pleasantly surprised of is Future Of Forestry. I like their contemporary music style. They played some songs and have out a Christmas album. Albeit I'm not really a Christmas music fan their Christmas songs sounds good. Check out" www.myspace.com/futureofforestry After Christmas I wll post a link so you can listen to other song samples of this band. And then .. the last band of the festival. Kutless. It's great to see the guys life. To listen to their songs life, to see them playing on stage. Kutless has a good live show. The songs they played came from their self titled album, Sea Of Faces, Hearts Of The Innocents and some albums I don't have. About the other bands. HB and Fireflight play good rockin' music. I only am not a fan of female fronted bands. Breaking The Silence, yep it's true when this band start to play the silence is poof gone. Thousand Foot Kruch was cool. Project86 is cool if you are a fan. | |

| I was there too and had the opurtunity to shuttel most of the bands but also haven't seen alot of their shows, but that's ok for I've seen almost everything after 23(!!) CRNs. So my 24th CRN was a meeting of good friends (Yvonne, sorry for the minimum of time I had to talk to you). What I've seen of some bands was there the last 4-5 years. A big surprise to me was Future of Forestry. Not only because my 19 month old daughter liked them. Pretty similar to "The choir" to me. Disciple is unbeatable every single year and the new CD is, as expected: GOOD!! Brad, the old and former guitaris did an excellent job of songwriting and soloing on that one.
So far for now.... | |

| I had the same thought. Christmas Rock Night is a famous rock festival in Germany. Most rock bands come from the US. Only HB is from Finland. | |

CRN seems to be famous all over Europe....

| One would expect that the great majority of bands would be from Europe, but they were mostly US. Now if we could just get the European bands to come over here for a US festival.... _________________ "If you are not concerned about your neighbor's salvation, you should be concerned about your own."

| Wow, that sounds veeeeeery good to me. Invite us!!! We're coming. I think transportation cost and accomadation/food would be ok for us. We can talk about details later on... CRN started way back in 1980 and it's getting bigger and bigger each year. I can tell for I visit CRN since 1985 (I was 14 then). The thing with the American bands is, that it seems to be easier for Americans to get a deal than for Germans or Europeans. Might because of the size of the country. I guess you wouldn't disagree the the most popular bands are from Europe, but not from the christian perspective (except for Leviticus, 7th Avenue, Matt Redman, Tim Hughes, Delirious? and maybe some of you might have heard of Sarah Brendel). I met a lot Americans who love to play CRN more than the shows overseas. Ask musicians who played CRN to get a clue of what this small festival means to those who were there once. Ok, there are people who won't come no more for there is more pop/rock music than it was in the late 80s and early 90s and maybe one reason might be that there are more signed bands with majors than unsigned bands. Ok, that's it for now. Any questions? Love to answer and keep in mind that my band and I wanna come to play in the USA!! MP3 goes USA (good slogan though ) | |

| A very good slogan.
How did Christmas Rock Night started? What's the differance between Legends Of Rock and Christmas Rock Night?
The fact is a lot of the most famous christian rock bands from the US come to Germany. We have Flevo Festival. Sometimes cool band play there, but most of the time the bands on Flevo Festival are not so famous as the bands who play on CRN.

| CRN started in 1980 while a coulple of people went to German christival and had the idea in mind to organize a festival in Ennepetal (40000 citizens). They started in a little hall that might have room for 100 people. I've been there and it's not that big. I think in 1983 or 84 they moved to Haus Ennepetal.
(Non-German) Bands who play CRN are coming exclusivly for this festival and are not touring before or after CRN ( I guess it's +/- 3 month)
Legends of rock is a festival of the same promoters but they invite those bands who influenced CRN over the years. Please don't ask me why it's called "Legends of rock" with a line up like 2009. I personaly still don't know what bands like Claas P. Jambor and Sarah Brendel (who are good in what they do) have to do with Legends of rock. The first two years were filled with Hardrock and Heavy Metal bands outta the scene that played CRN in the late 80s and early 90s. Hope it's not tourning out too "poppy".

| Both are indoor in the same venue (Ennepetal). Worth to visit for next door to the venue (Haus Ennepetal) we got the entrance of the largest cave in Europe. | |

| Next question for you Marc. How it goes to invite bands for CRN or LOR? Who get the ideas of inviting bands like Whitecross or HB or Disciple? | |

| Well, in the past the promoters asked a few people who to invite (late 80s/beginning 90s). That gave us bands like Bride, Guardian, Galactic Cowboys and Holy Soldier in 97 (HS gig wasn't as good as the one I saw at Rocketown while recording their live cd). Today it seems to me the record companies are choosing who's there. Well, most US bands were there a few times (in a row) as Disciple. It's not that I don't like Disciple but I think a company called Gerth Medien is pretty much involved in who to invite and who not. They doing a lot payments for the festival for you all probably know what a flight and a hotel room cost for just a week end. While writing this it sound a little bad. I think the best thing might be to write/email the promoter and ask for a specific band for I know they got mostly one or two who are getting a chance to promote themselves at crn and/or lor. This is a lot of text right? | |

| I'm sure it's tough to invite band all pleople like. This year there were three female fronted bands. I'm not really a fan of female fronted rock bands. Yes Marc it's a lof of text, It's cool to know more about these things. The first time we went to Ennepetal was in December 2001 to see Bride live. | |
