That's ok, because I only got about 50 pages into it and had to quit. It looks like a modern day re-telling of the story of Job. I had to take it back to the library because it smelled so badly of cigarette smoke that I just could keep reading it. -- _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| The Lord Of The Rings, by Tolkien!
Finally decided it was time for me to start reading something! So I've bitten the bullet and gone for TLOTR's and it's pretty good so far. Really nice to have pictures in my head (from the movies) as I read through it.
Brand new it cost £15 ($30) but as I bought it 2nd hand it was £4, and as it was a closing down sale I got it for £2.40, which was a pretty good buy I think ($5 ish)
Not sure if I'll get to the end, but it's good so far.

| Finished: Leni Saris - Vincie Marica Willis - The children's hour. That book will be finshed today or tomorrow. Then it's time to find new books.
Did you know Ted Dekker has a Dutch dad and an Indonesian mom?

REading is a window to the world--and beyond! With reading a book, I have learned about places I will never travel, and I have experienced things that my mundane life will never bring. A book is a great way to enrich your mind and stretch your imagination. Most people do like to read--they just have to find something that they really like. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/

| Reading can be quite hard, but sometimes it's really worthwhile. Back in the 90's I used to read alot, but in the last6 or so years I've read hardly any books.
Really enjoying LOTR though!

| Don't worry Drums, I really used to dislike reading too. I was probably 14 or 15 before I really started to enjoy some reading (never really like reading text books). My dad gave me a copy of a Robert Heilein science fiction novel, and I was hooked. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| My mom was an avid reader. She always had a book in hand it seemed. She taught all three of us kids how to read before we even started school. So, reading has nearly always been a part of my life. Mama encouraged me to find stories that I found interesting. I hated to read the required reading at school, but I would read anything else I could get my hands on. We lived in a very rural community growing up and lived a little over 3 miles from the only library. In the summer time, I would walk to the library, pick up 2-3 books PER WEEK, and take them home. I'd fly through the stack and go load up on more. Man, I'm a total book worm! I don't read as much as I used to (stinking jobs!), but I love to read. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/ | |

| I love it to read too. When I was a kid I was a book worm too. I still love it to read but have read moods now. Sometimes I read weekly a book and then I don't read in weeks. | |

| I found both of Miller's books to be great reads. He definitely has some unique views on the Christian life, and he opened my eyes up to a lot of things I had never seen before. Now reading: My Heart's Cry by Anne Graham Lotz _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/ | |
