| It's astounding how quickly our culture has shifted. If you know the history of Rome you see so many similarities but it took them over 600 years to get to where we have in a little over 200. | |

| I am serious, though. Since when did the American dream become an alternative lifestyle? It hasn't been that long since owning a home, being married to someone of the opposite sex, and raising your 2.5 kids in relative financial comfort was THE American dream. It doesn't help that our society has become entertainment based, and we have been telling our children for a few generations now that they can be/do anything they want (if it feels good do it).
