Over zealous Facebook group members

While I cannot stand message board or email spam, I am sick to death of people who think that they have the right to ado you to evert Facebook group or page they like or own.  They don't ask--they just add you and you start getting notifications.  If you ask them to stop, some will.  Most won't and will tell you that it is your place to remover yourself.  If you do, they just add you back.  It has happened to me 6 times in the past week.  I was readied to one group TWICE after removing myself.  I just unfriendly and blocked the offending person as they told me that they couldn't be bothered with keeping up with who did and didn't want to be added to groups.  It was all my responsibility to remove myself and block the group.  If you are going to do this, just know that you are about to get blocked.

I hear ya.  While I haven't had it as bad as you I get added once in a while to a group that I don't necessarily wish to be a part of.

I'm rather lucky I've only been added to three groups without my knowledge/permission...and only felt the need to take myself off of one of them. (the other two I think it's good to still be attached to).
Maybe you just need to quit being so friendly to people.  Be more of a curmudgeon and maybe people will be less likely to add you to groups.

Just like face-to-face social interactions, most people function mostly well... but every once in a while you run into someone who just doesn't know how to interact properly and crosses many boundaries.  I'm not sure there's any avoiding of it.  But it sure is annoying!

It's annoying when others keep you inviting to groups you don't like.
I'm getting invitations for events I never can visit.

It is annoying, and I can do something about it.  I deleted him and blocked him.  Being added to Facebook groups, for now at least, as stopped.  This is the 2nd guy I have dealt with that was a habitual group adder and that acted like it was my fault that I didn't want to be a part of his actions.

We get those, too.  When you like a band, they get so many people that are following/liking their page that they really don't have the time to check everyone and see if they are local for that event.  They just make the invites.

I don't even know who does that to me, but every so often I start getting posts from different music FB sites that I never (or WOULD never) joined. I go in and delete it. Yes, very annoying

Sometimes FB can be very annoying to show us the same things over and over.

Okay, on a serious note, for those that didn't see it, I'm gone from Facebook. I felt like God was prompting me to leave for 2017 and I may not come back...

I wish Facebook would let you invite someone to a group, rather than add them directly. Why they don't do that is something of a mystery to me.

I'm getting more and more disgusted with FB in general, and with the sheeple that continually post moronic stuff.

You have a much better memory than I.  I did do that, but I cannot even remember why.  To be honest, I try not to think about things like that after it is done.

OK, here is the situation: Checked FB this morning and receive an invite to 'Like' a specific music related page.  No problem because I really do not mind in that it is a subject I am interested so I chose to 'Like" the page.

The very next minute I receive a FB Notification advising me that the invitee has made me an 'Admin' of the page.  This is crossing all boundaries in that I find being an 'Admin' of one FB page more than enough time and trouble.

Problem is that it is not possible to get out of the 'Admin' status.  I cannot 'block', choose not to 'follow' or not 'like' the page because I am an 'Admin'.

Any thoughts or suggestions here?

BTW, unfriending and blocking the individual is a done deal.

Or change some of the settings... like language... to German...

That sounds amusing to me but I've never been an admin to a FB group so I don't know if you can even do it.
