Guess I'm gonna have to disagree. I used to be a HUGE Melissa Etheridge fan, and I don't really hear any real similarities at all. I would definately agree with Bonnie Raitt, Paule Cole, and Sheryl Crow. I might also add Natalie Merchant and Beth Hart (vocally she sounds quite a bit like Natalie Merchant, at least on some songs).

But she is very good, I can't say that I am terriby excited about her super mellow songs, but she is a great song writer. Definately better than a lot of the copy-cat CCM that seems to dominate Christian radio (at least here in the NW anyway).

Too bad that Jennifer Knapp quit CCM and music altogether about 4 years ago.

Yes that is a bummer, but being a touring musician is very hard work. Possibly she felt God leading her to do something else.

It's a strange but cool album.
I absolutely love the music.
Still studying the lyrics.
But now the voice of the vocalist.

It's not a great voice to listen to, yep I agree that with you.
And for a second album I would love to hear an other vocalist.
I think it's the combination of the music and the voice of the vocalist that fits very well together on this CD.

Sounds like you feel pretty much the same as I did. Thanks for sharing your opinion.
