New Bride song posted

Me likey! It's a little more progressive than previous albums. I also like the nice guitar solo towards the middle. I noticed on the track listing that there are a few covers of classical pieces such as Mozart. I'm guessing these are instrumentals? If the rest of the CD is like this, I shall be a happy camper.

I'm not sure about instrumentals. Could be.

With this song, I hear a lot more of their modern sound done on "Skin For Skin". But, the vocal structure reminds me a lot of "The Jesus Experience" but without all the weird effects.

I really like this song...

I don't like it at all. The first part is off time, and there's no heart here. I used to like Bride, but they've lost me.

I wouldn't really say it's off beat, I think they were just trying to create a feeling of unbalance. They also use the compound meter to accomplish the same feeling.

I'll have to go back and listen to this and see if I hear the same thing. But, I am a bass player and used to being off time.

I'm loving this! It's definitely got some groove to it. I wonder if
this is how "The Jesus Experience" would have sounded without all the
weird effects and more solos. This song is excellent.

You're a bass player AND a singer, so you have no chance of being on time.

I assume it's intentional. This has Jerry McBroom, right? He's too much
of a pro to be messing up that badly, but it just sounds wrong to me.

They've played around with weird syncopations before, which I like, but this rubs me the wrong way.

I've just got back from hols and the first thing I read is "Bride posts a new song"!! That's gotta make me happy!

Not as heavy as Skin For Skin, but it's got some heavy groove going on there. I definitely hear some The Jesus Experience style in it (which happens to be my least favourite album by Bride). But it does rock and I do like it alot. It's got edge, which was one of the things that TJE didn't seem to have in some of the songs.

It sounds to me like they've just gone into the studio and recorded EXACTLY what they wanted to record and haven't held back.

Based on that one song it won't be my favourite Bride album, but it's going to be good and I'm gonna love it. 'cause all Brides albums have been frequent players for me.
