OK, I had to check and see if this one had been done yet…evidently not. So without further ado…
What are your favorite Christmas movies? It doesn’t matter if you post 10 or 20 movies, just what are your favs.
I’ll post mine later today.

There's a few on your list that I don't think I've ever seen before. Here are some of my favorites (at least the ones I can remember)
A Muppet Christmas Carol (I try to watch this one every year). A Charlie Brown Christmas (not really a movie) Miracle on 34th Street (both versions) A Christmas Story It's A Wonderful Life The Nativity Story National Lampoons Christmas Vacation Home Alone Jingle All The Way
I haven't seen it in years, but I kind of want to rewatch "Christmas With The Kranks" this year (with Jamie Lee Curtis and Tim Allen). I hadn't thought of "The Family Man" as a Christmas movie before, but it fits, and it is a great movie. I saw "Meet Me In St Louis" a few years ago and really liked it, and it manages to make quite a few "Christmas Movie" lists on the interwebs.

I did just watched the Netflix branded (Hallmark style) movie "Our Little Secret" (2024) with Lindsay Lohan, Christian Chenowith, and a cast of C-list forgettable actors. It reminded me heartily of why I don't like most of these types of movies.

Joyeux Noel is based on the true story of the Christmas truce on the front lines during WW1 .

Noelle is very much a family friendly film. It has Michael Sweet in it and he does do some singing.

Holiday Inn features Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire.
The 12 Dogs of Christmas is a family friendly film that features a lot of dogs…and a cat.

I had no idea that Mixed Nuts took place (or included) Christmas... I'm not sure I've ever seen that one.
I had completely forgotten about "Earnest Saves Christmas". That's a great one!

I watched Holiday Inn (1942) at Hardkore's recommendation. One of those fun song and dance movies with a great musical score by Irving Berlin. Fred Astaire plays the dance partner to Bing Crosby's singing expertise. Interesting idea for the "Holiday Inn". It isn't the chain of hotels that were once quite popular in the U.S., instead it is an over-sized farm house that Bing Crosby buys and turns into an Inn complete with food and dancing/singing entertainment that is only open during the holidays. But I have a hard time believing that Astaire's dance moves could steal the girl away from Bing's soulful crooning. But beware kiddos the movie features smoking and the dreaded "black-face". I hope you can handle it!

So I managed to see The Muppet Christmas Carol. It was cute like a muppet movie would be. I enjoyed the singing in it as a musical. Michael Caine did good as Scrooge. Seeing Gonzo being a sort of narrator saying things that would be read in the book was interesting.
As a musical version I have always liked the 1970 version with Albert Finney called Scrooge.

I enjoyed it! With a movie sequel like this to work, you have to have original actors as much as possible and plenty of nostalgia while telling a new story. Then, add in some of the same dry humor as the original, and voila! You have a sequel that is right up there with the original. The only down side I saw to this was that the lady that played Ralphie's mom would not come back as she had retired from acting altogether and didn't feel like she was up to the challenge since she is well on in years.
