I am going thru a lot of my stuff and sorting thru it.
I am trying to figure out what to do with my cassette tapes. I haven’t used/ listened to any in I don’t know how long it has been.
Do I throw them away? Or maybe donate them. Does anyone even use tapes any more?

I keep mine just for nostalgia. I don't have a huge amount by any means, so I'm holding on to them just because.

I still the two dozen or so that I haven't managed to replace on CD. I never listen to them though. I don't even have a player anymore.

Some used record stores will buy them. There is actually a high demand for cassette tape with today’s teens and college kids. Might only get a few bucks for them but if you have a store in your area try there. If not donate them as someone will pick them up eventually.

I would try selling them on eBay, or better yet, in one of the Facebook groups dedicated to Christian music buying, selling, and collecting.
Like MikeInFla said, there is a market for them now
In fact, a lot of artists are coming out with special edition cassettes as one of the formats when they release new albums. There's been a lot of Christian bands doing that too.
Even Stryper just did it

As far as nostalgia, the first thing that comes to mind is remembering them getting unwound and wrapped in the player. Then spending time trying to get it free and rewinding it. Of coarse it didn’t happen all the time but it did from time to time. This is why I prefer CDs.

I prefer CDs, too. Untangling tape was disheartening. Here is my meager collection.

Oh cool, it looks like you have a number of "demos" or unlabeled tapes. What are those?

2nd Column:
- 90s New Wave (I don't know where that one came from) - Grindstone - Demo from 1993. Band from Poulsbo, WA. - Judah, One Step From the Basement, no case - Rock Worship - Mix tape. Don't know what's on it any longer - Demo from W. James Nelson - A friend of mine that I met at church. Played with a couple guys from Queensryche before Queenryche. - Beethoven Lives Upstairs Soundtrack. (I don't know where that one came from either) - I don't know. There isn't any label. - El Gato demo from the Judah days. That actually may be a 4-track recording.
3rd Column:
- Ideas #1 (Guitar riff ideas) - Ideas #2 (More guitar riff ideas) - Songs from Dave Landon (Judah) for me to learn and record bass on - Judah, One Step from the Basement (No Case)
4th Column:
- Noize - Live recording of my first band 1990. - Past Events -Dave Landon songs that ended with Judah. - About This Big (Band I played with '98) - Critical Mass - Band I played with in '92. Could be live, could be Memorex. I don't remember.

If you're indeed looking to get rid of them, don't just throw them away or anything, for I would definitely be interested in them. Just let me know. Godspeed!

If you choose to sell them name your price. I still listen to mine regularly and have a collection at least as big as yours but with few dupes that I can see.

I'm in a similar position, I never listen to my tapes but I hang onto them for nostalgic reasons. Seems like a waste of space. But if I sold them I just know I'd miss them at some point

I replaced all my cassettes over a decade ago. Any demos I had were ripped to MP3 and then Inside the originals.
