While Mission Of One is my baby, I am playing in a group with 4 other guys. It has taken us three years to get a name and also to solidify our lineup. We call ourselves Hard Road, and we have a 70s rock, blues, progressive rock kind of sound. We didn't shoot for that--it is just where we ended up.
We are playing this Friday night in Donelson, TN (suburb of Nashville). We have done a couple of blues jams before just to get out there, but this is the first time we are playing a full show of all our material.
The show starts at 7 and will happen at Donelson View Baptist Church, which is also where we practice. Our lead guitarist is also the pastor there. Please pray that this would help us to get a few gigs and move beyond the practice room.
Thanks!!!!

Ummm.....I have, and I don't want to again! Ten years later, and I am getting some arthritis in that ankle. LOL

You play in a Baptist church? And the pastor plays in the band? I can hear a collective gasp from the pastoral staff at my Baptist church.

It went really well! We had about 100 people in attendance with each of us inviting everyone local on our Facebook friends list and people from our respective churches (yes, Baptist churches). We played for a little over an hour. There were a few rough spots and mic issues, but all in all, it was a great show. When I get it uploaded to YouTube, I will post a link here so you can hear us!

Wow, around 100 in attendance sounds like a great turnout!

I actually wrote it with them in mind, but I also wanted to go heavier with it. Thus, I did it with Mission of One as well. I gave it more of the Rose or Danzig feel while adding three part southern gospel backing vocals just to have fun with it.
