Saint - Heaven Fell

Went ahead and snagged it from the band. $16 total.

Let me know what the whole album is like.  I've got mine on pre-order, but it probably won't arrive until November, and may end up being a christmas present for me. 

It's pretty good but I like The Calf better. The new one has some riffs that remind me a bit of Maiden and Dave even does a few "Josh" type screams. It's good but there is something with production or the mix that sounds a bit off. It could just be the speakers in my vehicle so I'll need to try it out on the home system.

This is one of the BEST albums this year!!  By Far imo...

One of the top 5 BEST Saint albums imo...  Crushing epic sounding classic heavy metal..!

If the rest of the tracks are like Heaven Fell and Holier Than Thou, then it will probably be one of my favourite Saint albums.

I've only listened to this once, but at first listen I seem to like it a little better than "The Calf".  Repeated listens will tell the true story though.

True Strength is all about Ezekiel. Basically lifted straight from Scripture. I love it.

I couldn’t get into Gravedigger. Which is a shame, because I adored Evie’s Little Garden. That’s been my disappointment for 2022 albums.

Yeh, I sort of kind of struggle with albums that just deal with one thing from Scripture.  I don't mind a few songs, but a whole album just tends to make me switch off a bit.  Maybe I'll add it to my Christmas present wish list...  as I do love the music and vocals...  I'm not sure...

Having spun this thing several times, I have to say it's a great release. Consistent and heavy. My only critique is that some of the lyrics are too vague for my tastes. But that's the only negative I can say about it, because overall it absolutely smokes.

I've listened to this new Saint album probably half-a-dozen times now and can't find a memorable song on it.  Sadly it seemed like I had the same problem with the last album.  This one certainly won't make my list of favorites this year.  The band has just evolved into a style that I can't really enjoy.
