Seems like we are quickly getting to the end of an era. I'm not sure which actors are still alive from the original Star Trek series, but the only two that come to mind are William Shatner (Captain Kirk) and George Takei(Sulu).
(Edit, I looked it up and it turns out Walter Koenig (Chekov) is also still with us)

I was very sad when I read the news about Michelle Nichols. She was a great actress and stepped up to the plate for blacks on TV by taking this show and staying with it.
She will be missed by many.

I had a feeling I should have sought out more conventions back in the 90s, but I was just out of college and low on funds, and couldn't chase all that stuff. Really wanted to meet Nimoy, Grace Lee Whitney, and her.
