I was wrong. Messenger’s In to Win flat out rocks. I think I was expecting something different when I got it and although I spun it more than once I couldn’t get into it. But a few weeks ago I gave it another chance and now I love the thing. I love it when this happens because it means I have more cool music to jam.
Has this ever happened to you, where you dislike an album until it randomly clicks? If so, what are some examples?

Bride’s Kinetic Faith was like that for me. I was so let down by that album because I wanted more metal. But then one day it just clicked and now I really enjoy that album.

King's X: Faith Hope and Love. First couple spins I only liked a couple songs and thought I wouldn't ever care for the album overall. But after spinning it a few more times, I came to love the entire album and it's in my top 50 favorite albums of all time.

I still haven’t completely come to love that album. It was the first one I got and I didn’t like it. After getting into Gretchen, OotSP, and Dogman, I grew to like FHL, but I find it frustratingly inconsistent compared to the rest of their early albums.

Makes sense. I heard Snakes first and KF couldn’t quite measure up, but I still liked it a lot. The main thing is I think the first half ends with three of the worst songs of their classic period. But the first two tracks rule and the second half of the album is fantastic.

Yes, In To Win is epic. I love their previous two aswell, but In To Win made my album of the year. I guess when I first heard it, I was hoping it would be heavier, but after listening to it, like you, it clicked and I played it an absolute ton.

I liked all of the Messenger albums when I first heard them.
To be honest, if I really don't like an album, it never really grows on me after that. Sure, I will give it a fair chance with repeat listens. But, if I really don't like it, then I don't seem to revisit that very often.
