Is that the Aretha Franklin film with Jennifer Hudson? My wife really wants to see that. Was it worth the time?
Yes, it is and was. It was similar in feel to Bohemian Rhapsody at times.

Sounds like it would be fun, will have to try it.

I've watched most of the first season with my wife. I think I'm going to have to finish it without her though because it's been 6 months since I could convince her to watch it again.

She's not a fan of crime dramas or just not this one? We liked the original BBC Sherlock series, too.
We're nearly done with the first season of The Mentalist as well. Apparently disc 5 got damaged or lost a few weeks ago, which is why we started watching Elementary. We finally watched the disc 5 episodes using our son's Prime account so we can now continue the journey.

I think it's probably a combination of not being a big crime drama fan and probably not being a huge fan of the quirky Sherlock character. She loves both of those current Firefighter 911 dramas right now (so she obviously likes the drama stuff).

Save Yourselves!
Indie flick on Hulu. Aptly titled. "Save yourself" the time and annoyance and don't watch it. Lost an hour and a half of my life. Actually fairly well acted, and should have been a good idea: Leftist woke millennial couple from NY city trying to survive an alien invasion. However the two main characters are so unlikable that you are practically rooting for them to be killed by aliens. They lured me in with a description of it being a quirky funny alien film. I don't think I laughed once.

That is basically it but there is more.
The few people that started traveling together end up having visions/nightmares of a guy in a red hoodie. One of the guys does graphic novels and identities him as the/a character in his books. The character was referred to as Satan. This character (Satan) was behind everything that was going on in the world.

Oh man I had totally forgotten about Rhinestone. Funny (but probably seriously dated) movie. I just remember Stallone dressed up like Glen Campbell and looking hilarious.

Watched season 4 episode 1 of Star Trek DS9 on Netflix. Rumor is that Star Trek shows will be leaving streaming platforms at the end of Sept and move exclusively to Paramount+. A month or so ago Twilight Zone disappeared so I knew it was only a matter of time before Star Trek was next.

A yes, yet another streaming subscription service I won't be getting. The "pay to stream" market is getting overcrowded IMO. I highly suspect some of these services are going to start to tank within a few years.

Well the movie was basically what I expected. It was a bit different with some comedy thrown in. The main things I can think of that dates this is when he is on horse back going thru NYC to get to her he passes by a movie theater. On the sign outside it has a poster for the movie The Right Stuff.
