Matt Hunt just posted this video of a Whitecross song from their debut album. Makes me wonder if the record is getting the reissue treatment. If yes, I might have to get this one.

I will just stick with their re-recording of this.

Yeah, think I will stick with the nineteen eighty seven version. I thought it sounded so much better than the original and most of the time re-records are nowhere near as good as an original. This is an exception.

Well it turns out Matt posted another video talking about his favorite 80's Christian metal albums. In it he mentioned having some CD copies of the first Whitecross album for sale that he got from Central/South America somewhere (he suspects they might be a bootleg). So probably no reissue but it sounds like you might be able to get a bootleg copy (if you want). I'm with ya'll, I will just stick to my 1984 rerecord.

I’d be all over a reissue of the original s/t album. I feel like the re-recording was technically proficient and better produced, but it stripped away the raw energy of the original. The loss of the heavy reverb on the drums and the deterioration of Scott’s voice makes me prefer the original. If that album could be properly remastered, I’d snap that up in a second.

I won't be getting it. I have the original, and 1987. Both I love, but I don't want a third.

I have the download, and I'm good. More of a casual Whitecross fan to boot.

A friend lent me this album and Hammer And Nail back in high school...they were probably the first Christian albums I ever heard. This album has a special place for me...

I can remember listening to 1987 and thinking, “Where’s the beef?”
