I have enough songs to record two new albums. They are shaping up to be more hard rock than blues. So, if I do them, they will probably be Mission Of One albums.
I want to switch to recording with a DAW (computer). To learn how to do this and do it right, I am thinking of redoing all of my previous MO1 albums. I know the quality wasn't there like it should have been. I may try to redo one old album and then do a new one, then an old one, etc.
Here is my question: should I do my own vocals or find someone else?
I think my voice is fine for my blues stuff, but not for metal. I can do a sweet impersonation of Alice Cooper, though, so using that voice could work and conceal the fact that I don't have a super high range. I could also seek someone else to do them, but there are no guarantees that I could get who I want or find someone interested without having to pay big bucks for their services.

Do Alice if you can't find someone but I think you should try to get someone else and both do vocals.

Actually, I was not being flippant but rather feel Dale's voice would work well with MO1.

He has so many projects that I don't feel like he is giving his best performance to everything he is doing. Besides, I do a couple of songs about going to Hell. Is he really going to go along with that line of doctrine?
I would be thinking someone along the lines of Jamie Rowe or John Schlitt IF I could get them. I would be willing to work with someone unknown if I could get the performance I wanted.

I think you should see if you could get somebody else who has the voice to fit. I vote for Jamie Rowe!

BTW - I started using Reaper for recording. It's reasonably priced and I like it a lot.

Alice vocals would be cool. Luke Easter is a great guy. He may be interested. Also, if I remember rightly (although maybe not in the right style), Chaz from Biogenesis said he was available for singing on different projects. I second Luke Weber. Love his vocals.

I don't know if you like his voice or not, but you could see if Jonathan Johnson would work with you.

I don't think Larry is going to be doing a ton of rock singing. His range isn't what it was back in the day. That's why he isn't singing for Fear Not anymore.
Luke Weber could be a good fit. He was the guy behind Razorigami, right? He used to post here sometimes a long time ago. Also, he has done a few songs for Pastor Brad.

Wasn't Luke also one of the vocalists for Mainline Riders?

Honestly, the best thing to do might be to try two or three songs and get an idea of how it sounds and feels. If you're upgrading your recording process, it might change the sound somewhat. I don't mean to be overly blunt, but in the Mo1 recordings I've heard, I've found a certain harshness to the vocals and some other aspects of the mix. Have you tried different vocal mics? To be clear, you have a good voice, just that it's unfortunately misrepresented on the recordings. Otherwise, you might want to try collaborating with someone for one or two songs and seeing where that goes.
When it comes to re-recording previous material, I might suggest picking a few of your favourite / the strongest songs from each album and releasing that as a sort of "new best of" thing. Call it "Reborn Again" or "Sanctified" or something.

Luke Weber released an album called "Weber" since his Razorigami days. I think most of the songs off it are from Razorigami, but there is some new stuff aswell. When he was here he was a really nice guy, so he could be worth a shot!

Deny the Fallen (not sure which songs) and perhaps Sacred Warrior (backing vox?). He's the guitarist.

I would think Ken would charge too much, as he's pretty well known?

He did an album for Greg X who was a complete unknown. Maybe he enjoys singing this kind of music and would do it for a reasonable price?

Because I don't write stuff that is lower tuned for more modern vocal styles. Think about most of the most successful bands in metal, and what do you usually get? Singers with a lot more range than I have.
My natural singing voice would be more akkn to the crooners of old. Oh, I could easily nail some stuff like Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. But, there is no place for that in metal except for the backing vocals. I have had other production foibles as well, but my voice, in my opinion, has always been the weakest link.
