Yes. I was asked by someone from church to do some stuff for the 'worship' part of the service. About a month ago someone read out a poem of mine, and then the following week I did another poem and turned it in to a video. (Hence, Universe).
I sent a third one in case they wanted to use it, but that may not be used as Christmas is in the way, and it's not a christmas poem!

I was thinking that couldn't be your voice in the recording....but then I remembered that I've never heard your voice. For some reason I can't think of you sounding so "proper". I think the British Isles have more unique regional accents then even we do here in the States.

In normal every day life, I sort of sound a slight bit cockney (although it is disappearing!). I grew up on the edge of London, so it's all "alwight mate? Ow ya doin'". I tried to get rid of that in the video.

Well you sound like you should be on the BBC. You have much better annunciation and smoother sounding voice than I do. I can totally understand losing a bit of the accent. I grew up on the West coast mostly which has that flat "accentless" American television kind of sound. But after living in the Southeast for 3 years (North Carolina) I started to develop a slight southern twang (would say things like "ya-all"). But after moving back to the West coast for another 25 years I've completely lost any slight southern twang I had adopted and am back the flat accentless way of speaking again.

I find your lack of accent disturbing.

Accents are really interesting. My mother was born near the north welsh border, but in the 1970's she moved to the edge of London, so her welsh accent has mostly gone. However, if she's on the phone to her sister, then it's "Allllooooo, oww arrre you then."

Whaddya mean Mr. Montana....you have to be too far away from Mini-soda (Minnesota) and Fargo (North Dee coda) to have any kind of accent yourself.

I have some drawl, but for someone who has lived in the southern USA all of his life, I don't think I have a bad southern accent. I've tried to help make it go away as it makes people sound ignorant.
Wait! I am ignorant! So, I reckon I kin say whut I wanna when I wanna. Ya'll ain't fixin' to lock horns overit, are ya,?

Translation: I dare say that I can say that which I would like to say at such time as I'd like to say it. Perchance you would like to settle this quarrel with a duel? I think not.
