I find it kind of funny that I was listening to Bride's "Oddities" album a few months back and a few of you mentioned quite liking the bands mid 90's album "Drop". I hadn't heard it before, and at the time said I might need to get a copy. Well it looks as if Girder Music is going to oblige and reissue the album for it's 25th anniversary. If you preorder it in the next couple of days you can get it for the low low price of just $12.99 (+ $19 s&h ).
Ok, I was only joking about the shipping but then I actually went to order it.....seems a bit steep for domestic shipping inside the U.S. Unless they get some less expensive shipping options I won't be ordering this album.

That's the trouble for me. International shipping costs the earth, okay, so maybe not that much, but at least half the earth.
Does it end up being more than the cost for the CD sometimes? I remember going to pre-order an album from a Swedish band and the album was like 17euros (which is substantially more than the 15 U.S. dollars most of us in the states are used to paying). But then they wanted another 12 or 13 euros to ship to the U.S. I added it up and did the math and was looking at paying upwards of $32 for a new album. I'm used to paying $15 plus $4 or $5 for shipping in the U.S. (for a total of around $20) for domestic releases.

Gonna sit this one out. IMO, the original still sounds good to me.

I am just keeping the Retroactive Records version.

I missed the boat on the original and the Retroactive version (heck didn't even know Retroactive reissued it). So I'm happy to be getting a cd at a decent price.

I could be wrong, but I believe this is the first time "Drop" has been re-issued. Really looking forward to it in that "Drop" ranks among my top 5 Bride albums.

Yes, I wanted to order a few CD's from Boones over the last number of years but the shipping costs more than the CD, and I'm like...

Yes, I think you're right.
I quite like the album. The only thing I'm not that keen on, is the fact that it says "Bride" on the front, and I'm expecting hard rock. If it had been a Dale Thompson solo album, then it would have worked much better.

Agreed. It was an abrupt transition going from the Kinetic Faith, Snakes..., Scarecrow Messiah era to the acoustic sounds of Drop.

The disc plays just fine. Can't compare how it sounds with the original (because I don't have it). It comes with all the lyrics and full panel write-up by Dale himself about what the band was thinking during the time they recorded the album and why it wasn't "screaming metal".
Also a collage of period photos of the band in the middle. I stuffed it in a new case and it's almost as good as new! Overall I'm very happy to finally have it.

And we'd actually trust the service that delivered your CD to handle mail-in ballots? Lord, we hope not!!!
