| I hate that for you. We have 2 cats, one 15 and one 13. The 13 year old we adopted from the humane society when she was 12. She is a "senior" cat we figured wouldn't get adopted and she has made a nice addition to our home. The older one I got when he was a kitten. it's hard losing a pet, we have 2 other cats and a dog buried in our backyard. Each lived long lives. | |

| The house is just too quiet without her, now. I feel lost as my daily routine revolved around Callie. She wakes me up wanting her petting and morning treats. She tucks me into bed every night. When I get home after work, I sit down to pet her. After supper, she gets into my lap when I watch TV. I feel crazy, but it feels like I have lost a human child. She was definitely my baby. She has laid beside me when I have had 4 surgeries. She tries to make me feel better when I am stressed. I really don't know what to do with myself without her as Callie took up so much time.
I was definitely blessed to have had her. My wife feels the same way. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/

| My parents' cats are up there in age too. Our oldest is 17 or 18. They each have different health problems. It'll definitely make a difference when each one goes. | |

| When the time comes, head to the animal shelter and find a cat. One that won't replace Callie but will continue the legacy. Our Humane Society is having trunk or treat today and they have a special on cat/kitten adoptions. | |

| That's very sad news. I lost my rabbit in May. It takes time to deal with the loss of a furry friend. | |

We have decided to get a new baby, but we want to wait until after Thanksgivng. We are going on a trip for the holiday and don't want to leave a new kitten at home by itself. I imagine we will get one right after we get back, though. If the new one is half as sweet or as spoiled, we will love it just the same. My wife and I are still hurting, but it is getting a tad better. We've cried buckets (especially me) and are ready for the pain to subside a bit. We don't want to forget Callie (not that we could), but we are ready for life to adjust where it seems normal for her not to be here.

| Sounds like you and Mrs Alldat are working through a very healthy grieving process to me. Let us know when you get the new kitty and what you name him/her. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

Thank you. I hope we are doing the right thing. We had planned a joint birthday party for yesterday. I turned 50 last Saturday (Oct. 9) and Holly's is next Saturday (Nov. 2). Our birthday's are literally two weeks apart, so we did our party on the Saturday in between. A friend of ours came to the party. She lost her daughter, who is also a good friend of ours, three months ago. She lost her mom the week of my birthday, and I did the funeral for her on my birthday. Anyway, the lady came to our party just to help herself get up and get out to do something that wasn't being at home alone or going to work. It is really difficult for her right now. I am so proud of her for coming out yesterday to our birthday party. This kind of puts into perspective the pain and loss we feel for Callie--our cat. We couldn't replace a human child or a parent. While we technically can't replace Callie, we can get another kitten. The loss we feel is real, but we can bring another pet to fill that void. Our friend has had the people closest to her ripped away from her and she cannot replace them.

| It's great that your friend came to your party, even with her loss. Nobody expects anyone to recover from that kind of loss overnight, but it has to be good to try and get on with life...even if just a little. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

We have made some major cuts on the budget. We have cut loose the guy who did the cleaning of the church and mowing. One lady has volunteered to clean, I will probably do the mowing next year. The church lawn isn't big. I could do it in an hour with a push mower, but we have a riding mower there. We stopped paying a salary to the secretary as well. For a small church with so few members, she was being paid obscenely for the amount of work. She says she will continue as a volunteer, but I don't see her doing it for long without the funds. We also have a small dumpster at the church. We are talking of going with street pickup and a couple of city cans. All in all, that will shave nearly $1200 per month from the budget. We aren't out of hot water yet, but this will keep us afloat for a while. Just to help be prepared, though, I may take on an extra job at school as a crossing guard. That could keep us afloat if the church has to shave any of my salary as well. I am trying to get us to where we are solvent and paying bills on time as well as give the Lord time to bring in some new blood. Without new people coming in, we still won't make it. I have come to grips with this, though. The Lord called me to be faithful--not to be a success. He is the one who will grow this church or close it. I just have to keep loving the people and preaching the Word of God. That's all I have the power to do. The Lord will cause us to stand or fall. If I have followed His lead, then I am a success even if the world would say I am not.

| Did anyone see my thread on Facebook about my Halloween playlist? I actually had to delete comments as I had a couple of people try to take me to task about celebrating "the devil's holiday". I am so tired of the religiosity of some people. If you think the day is evil, then just don't celebrate it. If you think our modern version is okay since the spirit of it is to simply dress up and give kids candy, then please do. But why in the world do people have to try to elevate themselves and lower others if they do Halloween? I am sure they just want to help, but it comes off as just pompous piety to everyone else. It makes you want to fire back at them and ask if they think that the KJV is the only real Bible and how many Chick tracts they handed out this year.
I just deleted their comments hoping they'd take the hint.
