New Angelica Album

So it appears that Dennis Cameron has decided to come out with some new music.

Without Words

Angelica is the brainchild of guitarist extraordinaire, Dennis Cameron and is a Christian Melodic Hard Rock/Metal AOR band. Angelica debuted in 1989 and signed a 5 album deal with Frontline Music Group. Thirty Years after that first album and after a 27 year hiatus, Angelica and Dennis Cameron are back with a new album, Without Words. 
Dennis is a practitioner and is great at his craft. This new album comes not only by way of many hours in the studio but also with the 48 years of him honing his guitar chops.
Dennis, who hails from Canada, is a prolific guitarist who was interviewed by nearly every music magazine in Japan. Sure their label was in the United States, but Dennis’s chops were recognized all over the world.  He was often compared to some of the great guitarists in the Christian rock scene, but most correctly compared to the greatest mainstream guitarists of all time such as Hendrix, Clapton, Satriani and Steve Vai. 
His ability went way beyond “shredding”.  His playing came with feeling, emotion and a sense of timing that allowed him to reach way past a great guitar solo, something he wears as a badge of honor.  “Knowing music theory and practicing to be a good guitar player are only small parts of the formula for making good music”, Dennis states, “I spend just as much, if not more, time working on my writing, engineering and producing than I do just working on my guitar playing.”
Dennis first picked up guitar 48 years ago at the young age of 6.  Now 54 years of age, he leaves nothing off record and lets his guitar and fingers do the talking for him.
Words cannot describe what you’ll be listing to.  Literally, there are no words, it’s just Dennis and Co. doing what he does best and what few are able to accomplish; create an album of entire songs around 6 strings of amazement.  It has the Angelica sound that you’d expect, melodic with some serious drive and crunch.  You won’t be able to stop listening to “Without Words”, it’s ‘all in’ with hooks galore and top notch production.

I am not at all a fan of instrumental albums so I am definitely not getting this album.
It's a bummer that he couldn't get Drew back to sing on these songs, I've always liked what Dennis was doing musically, even though I couldn't get behind the him singing on the last Angelica album.

I love instrumental music.  I will be picking this bad boy up!

Where did it say it was instrumental?  If that's what this is, then it isn't Angelica.  It is a Dennis Cameron solo project.  While Angelica always did instrumentals on their records, they were known for high energy rock with vocals.  I don't want an instrumental record.  If that is truly what this is, then I am passing.

Oh, I see it now.  I skipped over that.  Since this is instrumental, I am definitely passing.  I even got rid of my old Jeff Scheetz albums years ago for lack of playing.

I was kind of thinking the same thing.  I get it that Dennis Cameron "is" Angelica, but the other four albums have vocals on most of the tracks.  It seems a little weird to call this an Angelica album without anybody singing on it.  Nobody would put up with this from other bands in this genre.  Can you imagine...hey there is a new Mr Big album....but all instrumental, no vocals. I don't think any of the fans would be happy.  I gotta wonder if he is using the Angelica name because he thinks it will move more albums than "Dennis Cameron" titled album might.

I've got my pre-order in.  The instrumentals still have that Angelica vibe in the video.  If Robert Pallen is on bass and Scott Ernest is on drums, then it's Angelica sans vocals.

That's seems like a plausible explanation.  However, if dozens of Angelica fans buy this album having no clue that it is instrumental only (no vocals)...I think a lot of them are going to feel cheated.  Not unlike a lot of fans did with the Brave's last album when they refused to divulge that their new lead singer was a female.  Personally I was alright with that, I thought she was great.  
Not that it bothers me personally, Dennis can do what he wants.  I just would hate to see him experience a big internet backlash over it.

At least for Angelica they made it clear it's an instrumental album.
