Just informing everyone that Tim Bushong, Greg Purlee and I have gone back into the studio to record the follow up to “Soak Your Brain”. That was 25 years ago so we thought we’d get right on it😎 Should be released in 2019. Updates to follow…

They've got drums tracked for 11 songs and Rick is taking them to lay down the bass tracks and then they'll be sent back to Tim Bushong for guitars and vocals.

Never heard of them. Looking for an introduction. If I were to start with one song, what should it be?

The title track "Soak Your Brain" would be a great song. It would also be the easiest to find I would guess.

I had the "Soak Your Brain" album on cassette and just couldn't seem to get into it for some reason. Maybe I should give it another try.

I've had my CD for many moons and still give it a spin now and again.
It's got style and groove which is what I like.

I love Atomic Opera, King's X, Galactic Cowboys, Mustard Seeds...and Lovewar is in this same genre, but I never understood the love for this album. To me it's all rather generic, nothing memorable.

That might explain why I'm not a fan. I don't dig any of those bands.

Finally got to listen to them. I think I'm in love with the bassist. Love the bass line and the way it weaves around the rhythm. Unfortunately, the rest of it, while good, is not really my thing. But that bass!! Groo-vay!

That would be Rick Armstrong, who was also the bassist on Whitecross' Triumphant Return album.

Would never have picked to link the two because Whitecross often have a more steady bass. Still, what's a sample of two Lovewar tracks to judge that eh.

Listening to the two songs of Lovewar make that I am very interested in a new CD of this band. This really rocks.

Does anyone have the SECOND Lovewar CD? It was a limited run of just demos they had put together and it wasn't professionally mixed or mastered. I used to have it but must have traded or sold it. I wish I had a copy so that I could do a master of those songs now.

I think this album has a bit more pop sensibility with it. The big hooks help to make this album in my opinion. King's X did that some in the early years but I don't know about later in their career. I couldn't get into Atomic Opera for some reason but like Lovewar.

Oh, I ran "Soak Your Brain" through a little remaster of my own. It brought the low end up without destroying the size and sound of the guitars. There was a lot of groove before, but this remaster of mine brings out the snarl of the bass and the power of the kick drum. Now it really grooves!

I would, but I had a couple of members take me to task for sharing even out of print remasters with the community so I stopped.

Ah. I was thinking that as a closed forum, it would be like coming over to your house to listen to music that we wouldn't be taking away with us. My bad.
