Computers...

Computers are a pain!  A necessary evil!  On Friday evening, whilst on CMR my computer showed the blue screen of death, and then completely turned itself off.  Everything I did to try to fix it didn't work, going to a restore point didn't work, getting windows to fix the problem didn't work, even clicking reset the computer which wipes all the programmes didn't work.  It looked like all my files that weren't saved on the external drive would be gone forever.  Fortunately I found out that you can copy stuff from your hard drive to another drive using dos (although you have to know the right location of each and be exact).

This all means that now it's Monday and I'm almost back to having my PC as it was before.

About 20 hours of computer work!  Strewth, what a way to spend a weekend!!

Oh man that stinks!

Eeee, sorry to hear that bro. These days it doesn't seem to matter whether I buy a brand new laptop or a used or a rebuild... the "blue" screens, the "sorry" screens, the blinking cursor DOS screens, etc are just a normal part of owning a Windows OS computer these days. The quality in their OS has deteriorated massively

I had a laptop that bit the dust last year with the blue screen of doom.  I couldn't even get it to start in DOS to attempt to work on it.  It was a few years old, though.  I waited until Tennessee's Tax Free Weekend and bought a new one.
