This one is a little different...hopefully in a good way?
We're veering away from the Christian music with this album so I hope it's ok that we still post a few tunes here. Not veering away for any reason other than I just thought this was an interesting topic for a concept album. I think I mentioned in a post months ago that I love the album Powerslave by Iron Maiden and always thought they should have made it a concept album. And that's what inspired me in doing this record with ES. However this album is still rooted in religion...an ancient religion. Some of which is discussed in this song.

I haven't listened to much of your stuff you've posted in a while. I don't know why, really.
I like the song. You've nailed your mix down with this band. The bass and bass drum cut through without being muddy. The guitars are crisp. The vocals are finally in the mix enough that they are out front enough to have clarity, but they aren't too loud. You've got them mixed where they aren't really competing with other frequencies. Great job!
How did you get permission to use clips from The Mummy movies? If you didn't get permission, you need to be careful. Movie companies can get pretty upset if you use a lot of their footage.

Thanks Alldat... I addressed the video clips in a different post where I wrote...
"Sometimes you will get a copyright claim email from youtube explaining that the original owner has filed a copyright claim, but it explains that there is nothing you need to do, are not in trouble, and can keep your video up (it actually says exactly that). What will happen is that they may place ads on your video but give all of the proceeds of those ads to the original video owner. The original video owner will also have access to statistics from your video. So if you go this route you obviously cannot monetize the video and or collect any revenue from it.
There are millions of 'fan made' movie trailers, music videos, etc. on youtube all using movie clips, etc. But those folks aren't getting the proceeds from their videos. Universal Studios, or whoever owns the footage is.
On more original performance pieces we have used in the past we have actually reached out to video creators to seek permission for use of some or all of their original work. For example our video FORGIVEN is a performance piece done by someone else, but we reached out to the video director (Duncan) and the dancer in the video (Dorotea..who is fantastic. You should check out her other videos) and they were kind enough to let me chop up their original video and edit it to specifically fit our song.
But when I throw together a quick teaser or quick video using clips from the trailer to the movie THE MUMMY, I'm not reaching out to Tom Cruise or Universal Studios to ask them. They just file the claim and take any money generated from my video." Now all that being said the biggest challenge we (or anyone for that matter) has is obtaining exposure. It is extremely difficult and takes a tremendous amount of time. Having a YouTube Channel, Soundcloud page, Website, Twitter account, Facebook page, etc. is time consuming to maintain. AND you have to keep adding content regularly or people become disengaged. So from time to time I'll edit a video to one of our songs and throw it out there just to get people to listen to it, but even better if the video has something to do with what the song is about. Editing the videos is also time consuming, but necessary.
Jenny and I appearing in a video together is also very difficult being that we're on opposite sides of the planet. But we have utilized green screens in the past on a small scale, and that's probably something we will do more of in the future (as soon as I lose some weight!!).
All these huge bands out there have teams of people to do all of this stuff for them. But us small town wannabes have to do it ourselves! But you know what...I'm really proud of our music and I really do like doing most of the other stuff, especially the website. I've seen many band websites, even from big bands, and I think ours looks better than a lot of them. Maybe I'm patting myself on that back a little too much but man that thing took me a long time to build up to what it is today. And I didn't (couldn't) just hire someone to do it for me.
Sorry for my little rant at the end there...It's been a long day

Lol! I know right! If you knew what my day job was you'd be even more surprised that I find the time. We should have a contest to see who can figure out what I do for a livIng!
HINT - I'm at the airport right now heading to Chicago for work. Last week I was in Miami. Heading to Dallas, Tx in two weeks. Then who knows after. I'm on the road every other week.

Well based on the "Day/Night" photo I am going to change my guess to Medical Equipment Sales. Yep, that has to be it.

Nope.
Here is another hint. The company I work for is featured in this music video in several shots. When I was in Miami a few weeks ago they were filming this video in one of my locations with Drake and Antonio Brown (Steelers).

Regional Director of Asset Protection? What kind of title is that? (I liked Bounty Hunter better). In all seriousness that sounds like a tough job, do you do all the traveling to train employees?

Yes. Lots of travel, training, investigations, etc.
That was fun! Now if anyone can figure out what Jenny Stokes does, let me know because I'm wondering the same.

Sadly she hasn't given us any clues.....sounds like I need to make another "Dumb Kwestion" thread about what people do for a living. Maybe she will take the bait?
