| Alright, so Staybrite gave me permission to borrow from his series.
Dumb Kwestion #34 - What's the furthest you've ever been from home?

| Gave you permission, hah I pretty much bullied you into it! Home was a "moving target" for most of my younger life (until I was about 23). And that was when I did most of my “furthest” traveling. When I lived in Denver (and was just a wee land) my dad was in the military and we were relocated to Frankfurt Germany (about 5,000 miles, or 8,100 km). But I lived in Germany for 2-1/2 years....so technically that kind of became home.
When I lived in North Carolina and was in the U.S. Army I was deployed to Panama twice (the second time to get shot at). That is about (4,100 miles, or 6,600 km), strangely enough it is in the same time zone as the Eastern U.S.
Another time (still living in North Carolina) I was deployed to Oman (on the South Eastern Arabian Peninsula) to train with local forces. That trip was 7,500 miles (or 12,080 km).
BTW, cool kwestion! _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| For me, it would be southeastern France, I think somewhere 6000 km or 3500 miles from home. I've visited France relatively frequently, probably about 10 times. I've been to the Alps maybe 4 or 5 times of those (I was quite young at first and don't remember much of the earlier trips).
After that would be the west coast of North America, about 4000 km or 2500 miles from home. During the summer of 2008, I went with my family on a month-long road trip across the continent, driving through the northern States on the way there and through the Prairies on the way back. Of course, this was the summer that fuel prices shot up during the recession, and we were driving a minivan with a trailer almost 10000 km or 6000 miles. Prices got nearly to $1.50 a litre or $6 a gallon.
Furthest south I've been is in Tennessee, something like 1,700 km or 1,100 miles from home. Furthest north is Nemaska, a Cree Nation community, about 1,000 km away.

| Fun question!
According to this website, the furthest I've been is 9,113 miles (14,987 km) when I went to Uganda. Second furthest would be Slovakia at 6,097 miles (9,811 km).

The farthest I have traveled from home would be Las Vegas, NV. It is 1830 miles from Watertown. I just typed my city into the distance finder site....not my full address. What was weird is that my town was represented by a photo of the church one street behind my house. | I went to Cyprus for a holiday, so that was 2,230 miles. But, because of Staybrites interest in who has travelled the least far...
...if you said what's the furthest I've been in the last 11 years, then it's... 268 miles! How local is that! PAH! _________________ My Christian Metal Website......... Silence Is Madness

Where in Mexico? On my drive back to Washington state from North Carolina the little lady and I stopped in El Paso for a few days to visit an Army buddy, and they took us to Juarez. That was my first time to Mexico. In November my wife and I will celebrate our anniversary with a Cruise to Mexico that stops in a few of the coastal tourist traps. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... | 2031 to Phoenix. The actual destination was Camp Verde, AZ (which is about a hundred miles shorter) for a mission trip, but we took a side trip to Phoenix one day.

Pretty much just across the border. I don't remember of the actual little town we stayed in but we did spend the night on Rosarita beach.

Still found it kind of funny that you paid an old guy in the parking lot to make sure your car didn't get stolen. The guy who was driving us said that if we get in a vehicle accident just get out of the car immediately and walk to the boarder gate without stopping. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... | Back in 2001 I made my way out to Devil's Tower Wyoming. It is 1623 miles from here. I had to use google maps as that other site wouldn't list the distance for me.

| Flown from California to New Hampshire a couple times to visit my wife's family. From one shore to the other is probably about as far as you can go without going out of the Country.
I hate travel in any form, so these days I avoid as much as possible
