Not sure if this has been mentioned here or not but Scott is starting up a record label and is wanting to release the S/T Deliverance on vinyl and CD. 19 days to go and they are almost there:

I'm gonna sit this out for two reasons:
1. I never really cared for Deliverance's early thrash/speed metal sound. I've owned this album on cassette and later CD but just never got into it. I got rid of it. I love the middle era of Deliverance with the more Bowie-esque vocals more.
2. I am burned out on crowdfunding.

I did see that and thought it was very cool. Not at all a Deliverance fan myself, so I'll be sitting this one out as well. I hope they get enough pledgers to make it happen.
I will say this, it does seem like a lot of the same albums keep getting reissued though. I swear that album just got the reissue treatment from Retroactive or some other indie record company...within the last 10 years (I get that this one is slightly different as they releasing a vinyl version as well).

That's my issue. I'm burned out with the same albums getting re-released over and over. It would be great to see some different stuff get this treatment; however, I would imagine financial realities make that unlikely.

I'm guessing not just financial, but also consent. It has to be difficult to get whoever owns the original recordings to consent to having them reissued. I remember Retroactive tried to reissue First Strike's "Rock of Offense" a few years back, they even had the cd art laid out and even had it remastered, but and in the 11th hour one of the band members decided they didn't want the album rereleased and Retroactive halted the project. On the financial side (like you mentioned) there is the risk that nobody will buy it. The label has to judge how much demand there is for something. If the recording is too obscure it won't help them to print up 1000 copies of it only to sell 30 cds.

I personally would love to own that one on re-issue vinyl. but I just don't have the money anymore for things like this. I broke down and paid the pre-release for Guardian's Fire and Love on Vinyl since that's one of my all time fav albums. But beyond that, I have just enough money to go to the Metal Fest.

Yeah, what is the return on something like First Strike? A lot of the reissues done by Roxx are limited edition, 200-300 copies sometimes. Guess that's his way of making a profit without being stuck with product.
Is there a market for Scarlet Red or Seraiah? Prob not. And there is another band that escapes my mind at the moment (kind of sounded like GNR and had a cartoonish album cover) and I wish some of that stuff would get reissued. Could be a lot of red tape (First Strike) or lack of interest.

Man and now I really wanna know the name of that band.... Anyone know? No idea what label they were on. Sounded a lot like GNR but not nearly as good production. Cover art was a drawing.

Your not thinking Killed by Cain?

No, that's not it... Man I wish I could find it now, I had an mp3 of it somewhere. I wanna say they had a song called Mr Bones (or Mister something) but I could be way off. A google search came up with nothing as did a search on discogs for Pure Metal Records (which I guess they were not on).

Well when you say "sounds like GnR" of course my first thought was Snakes era Bride...but I knew that couldn't be it. Hmmm, maybe someone with a better memory will stumble across this thread and figure it out for us.

When I have time I will see if I still have it on MP3. I used to have it on my phone but have since changed SD cards.

I found it! Old phone was dead and would not boot but the SD card was still there. Traxter, Mr. Love!
Wish this stuff that's obscure would get remastered as well. Anyway, I know off topic but this what I couldn't remember. And now that I hear it, not really GNR sounding other than the vocalist some-what has that sound

I had an old CDR of that album, but lost it several years back.....so I don't even remember what they sound like. Glad you figured it out, because I never would have.

I have that Traxter on CD!!! Lucky me!!!
If they could get the right people to work on some of these reissues as a partnership, getting them done cheaply could happen. Yes, you'd still have to get the rights to release them. But, if you could get your graphics artist and someone to remaster them for free but profit at a 25% level each with the person printing the discs at 50%, then it might be doable. The percentages might have to change as I am just speculating here.
I don't think that the demand is that low to only need 200-300 copies. Part of the problem is not getting the word out that this is available. You've gotta find ways to get some marketing going or get someone like Frontiers records to at least carry this in a web store. If the metal community at large doesn't know about these releases, then they aren't going to sell them. If the quality is truly there, then I believe that there would be metalheads who would buy it even if it is Christian. Look at Stryper. People know their music despite it being Christian in nature. Why? They had the sound and the look. If some of these old albums were redone correctly, I feel they would sell a bit better if marketed right.
