Ok this sounds like something Fundy would do (so at least he will reply), but I was thinking about most of the hard/heavy music genres and begin listing some of the bands I thought would fit into each category.

So what are some of your favorite groups based on the following genres? Feel free to add you own categories, I have listed some examples for each genre (feel free to disagree with me, it's funner that way).

Classic Metal/Hard Rock: Apostle, Barren Cross, Bloodgood, Haven, Grand Lux. Laudamus, Letter 7, Leviticus, Neon Cross, Mission of One, Recon, Red Sea, Sacred Warrior, Saint, Spittin Jonah, X-Sinner, Zion

Black/Death Metal: Yucky, icky-poo!
That's the perfect description for this music.
I've no idea if I like some Nu-Metal bands.
