| Ok this sounds like something Fundy would do (so at least he will reply), but I was thinking about most of the hard/heavy music genres and begin listing some of the bands I thought would fit into each category.
So what are some of your favorite groups based on the following genres? Feel free to add you own categories, I have listed some examples for each genre (feel free to disagree with me, it's funner that way).
Classic Metal/Hard Rock: Apostle, Barren Cross, Bloodgood, Haven, Grand Lux. Laudamus, Letter 7, Leviticus, Neon Cross, Mission of One, Recon, Red Sea, Sacred Warrior, Saint, Spittin Jonah, X-Sinner, Zion

Classic Rock: Barnabas, Daniel Band, Degarmo & Key, Fighter, Petra, Rachel Rachel, Rez
Blues/Blues Rock: Glenn Kaiser. Greg Chaisson, Darrell Mansfield
AOR/Hard Rock: Crossection, Cry Holy, Idle Cure, Sure Conviction, White Heart
Modern Rock: Day of Fire, Disciple, Fireflight, Hammertown, Kutless, Jonah 33, Pillar
Nu Metal: Believe, Stricken
CCM/ P&W: Todd Agnew, Lincoln Brewster, Jeff Deyo, Third Day, Chris Tomlin
Alternative: Fono, Mad at the World, Violet Burning
Grunge/Alt: Applehead, Forevertree, Nailed, Stir, Torn, Wish for Eden
Doom/Stoner: F.O.G., Goliath, Place of Skulls, Rev Seven, Rose
Thrash/Speed Metal: Tourniquet, Ultimatum, Believer, Vengeance Rising
Black/Death Metal: Chrimson Thorn, Frost Like Ashes

| Black/Death Metal: Yucky, icky-poo! That's the perfect description for this music. I've no idea if I like some Nu-Metal bands.
