| I didn't care for "Quilt". It was just too poppy for me. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/ | |

I am glad that the new Eden's Way album is getting some attention because it has some REAL good songs on it. Plus the group has made a bit of a change in terms of musical direction in combining melodic rock/AOR and gritty hard rock with some heavy blues based leanings, which works well with the soulful lead vocals of David Underwood. Only complaint is that production is a bit thin but nothing that ruins the album either. Look for a full length review to be online tomorrow.

That is why it did not rank as high on my list as it did for others. Compared to the last two albums especially, the production is demo-ish sounding. They needed to have brought those guitars up in the mix as it is too bass heavy. The music is thin sounding. Unless they were intentionally shooting for a 70s sound, then this is a major step backwards in overall production quality. As for the songs, I love 'em. This could have been, with better production, in my top 3-5. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/

I feel it is a combination of the two. My impression is that Eden's Way is going for a more accessible sound- or at the very least not quite heavy as previous albums "IV" and "Rock Solid". But I agree that the guitars need to be brought up more in the mix.

| Oh and just an FYI, my list of fav 2016 albums is NOT listed in any particular order of best to less or anything, I just made a list for Untombed that included my fav albums of the year, but in no particular order. | |

| I really like Disciple-Long Live The Rebels, Zao-The Well-Intentioned Virus & Relient K-Air For Free. The new Narnia was good but not in the upper echelon for me. |
