I was watching a video of "What Child Is This" by YouTube violin virtuoso Lindsey Sterling and a related one popped up titled "Hallelujah #aSaviorIsBorn". Turns out she's a Christian as well. The Leonard Cohen song isn't necessarily Christian, but in the end she talks about her faith and everything. Really cool

I'm not a huge fan of instrumental music, but that was really cool.
On a side note I find it a little silly that the "hashtag" has found it's way into actual song titles (of course I'm also turning into an old curmudgeon...so that has to factor into it).

Funny, I prefer instrumental music. So much can be said, so much feeling conveyed, without words to muck it all up.

Well there's no accounting for some peoples tastes (obviously just kidding) What's funny is I really like quite a bit of classical music (without vocals) and don't really like opera at all. So it's all just a matter of different strokes. Which is great because if we all liked the same thing this would be a boring world.

I enjoyed the version but I wouldn't listen to it much. I am not a fan of instrumental music. I've gotten rid of most any album I've had over the years that was instrumental due to not getting played. I far prefer vocal music.

I don't wanna start anything that will detract from anyone's enjoyment of this incredibly talented musician/performer, but her Christian faith is coming through Mormonism. I'm not sure how much that matters to anyone, but I just didn't want anyone to get blindsided by it. It doesn't stop me from enjoying her talents and it doesn't stop me from being thankful that this hugely popular mainstream musician is humbly and boldly acknowledging the role of Christ in her life and not using it as a PR gimmick.
