| The band that brought you the album "Speak" 20 years ago is back. While they aren't doing the alt/rock sound they they did then, they do have this super cool 70s vibe. The new album is called "Heel" and is available on CD or MP3. You can hear clips at Amazon. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/ | |

| I wasn't a big fan of what I heard from the "Speak" album. But I'm listening to the sound samples for the new "Heel" album and I have to say it sounds kind of cool. Some of it reminds me a little of John Elefante's last album. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| It does! It has some of the 70s progressive rock sound of Kansas (thus the Elefante comparison), Genesis, Yes, etc. While it isn't the heaviest album I've ever bought, it is a cool rock album that I will have to say that the labels aren't putting out anything this good.

| I have already listened to this several times and am loving it more with each pass. It is a varied blend, but this is just so good! This could be my album of the year unless something else just blows it away.

| I listened to it once on Spotify and it sounds to my like it will take several listens to really get into it. I think I'm going to get it (probably a little later this month). _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| Something just simply clicked when I heard it. Maybe I am just getting old, but this brought back a lot of memories from my youth as I heard pieces of different artists' influences. I definitely need to find more music in this vein. It could be that I am just mellowing out more in my decrepitude. Of course, where I have been making these cigar box guitars and listening to some other more folk/blues based music because of this newfound hobby, I could just be developing a more eclectic taste.
Regardless of the reason, I would like to find more like this. Maybe I should get some PFR and Believable Picnic CDs as those bands are the closest I could find quickly in a similar style. MATW's "Ferris Wheel" also is a good comparison in my mind as well as some Big Tent Revival.

| So glad they put out a new album. I still need to pick it up. I've listened to it a few times on Spotify. Heel really is a solid album. | |

| I don't like every song from "Speak" either, but I do like every song from "Heel".

| I just can't get enough of this record. It is definitely a contender for album of the year.

| I've finally moved the album into my listening rotation and I have to say that a few of the songs have some major hooks in them. I find myself singing the chorus to that "All This For a Piece of Fruit" song over and over for hours after listening to it. Just lots of good stuff to enjoy on this album. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."
